  1. If he was dangling a 243 T dial I would jump but the 312 does nothing for me. I do like the GMT version but I just bought my Gen 297 a week ago Another option is an 087 but no box and papers. I have plenty of box and papers and I don't give a damn about them but I like to keep complete sets for future trades ect Dunno the 219J looks awefully nice on the New Mario Paci I just put on
  2. What do you girls think of the 250 or the 312? Have two trades for my rare and genuine 219J on the table One is for a 250K and the other a 312K Not sure if I am in love with either. Matt doesn't seem to overly wowed by the 250 and the only 1950 44 mm case I really like is the 243 My best scenario would be to sell the 219J and buy a 219K-L or a 112 for a lot less money What do you bozos think? Right now I am leaning toward keeping the 219 and seeing if a nice JV brown (exactly like the one Tswiss has on his 112) might make it sing better
  3. Thanks Simon I will give her another go this weekend but I still want to be at the front of the pack on the next run of 201a dials! lol
  4. thanks pete I thought about a very light brush of thinner over and over until as needed and then likely another coat of tamiya varnish
  5. Well I said the black spot on my Blanieo-Rex Fgd 201a wouldn't bother me I am sick in the head and it does. This watch would be otherwise perfect and the best 201a I have seen outside of a Franken So any ideas on how to carefully get a paint spot off of a dial? help
  6. The Blane-io - FGD 201a arrived today from my special watchmaker buddy Just got my FGD 201a back today from my bud and whooooooooooooooooooo I bought the case set from Blane-io as well as the extraordinary The Zigmeister genuine Tritium lumed FGD dial Blane did a masterful job finishing the LH CG to fit to the DSN pre-V case and T 48 crown The dial had some noticable scratches in the finish and a bit of a dark spot which Blane clearly pointed out to me ahead of time which was due to the various different owners handling it. The Zigmeister's work was of course masterful and it's a shame it's owners didn't wear finger cots when handling her. So I ordered a can of the Tamiya TS-80 varnish which everyone said was best and had it sent off to my watchmaker bud along with the dial and case set and an Ofrei Swiss Unitas movement My bud tore the entire movement apart, cleaned, oiled and regulated it and removed the subsecond module as well We had to wait for the damn Tamiya varnish as the ebay seller who sold it took their sweet time sending it to him Last week the varnish arrived and he gave the dial a fine coating which turned out friggen perfect. Only the small black spot by the hand hole is visable and there is nothing that can really be done about it short of fine sanding it out which could make the problem worse than the minor nit that it is. In addition most of the genuine Pre-V's I have seen seem to have some type of dial patina or age character anyway. He assembled the whole thing and ran it on a timer to happily find it keeping perfect time I just got it back this afternoon and installed the Jakob 201a caseback that I got last week as well as the wholesale outlet screw tubes which are more accurate than the PreV DSN screws. I chose my heavily oiled Gunny 95 and it is a perfect match to the color of the gen The Zigmeister Tritium lume Looks amazing, CG snaps against the T crown like my gens! Very very happy and thanks to Blane-io who of course gets first right of refusal should I get demnesia and decide to let her go Thanks go out to Simon for making our dreams come true! To The Zigmeister for his unbelievable lume work which is jaw dropping! To Jakob for helping to finalize the vision with his amazing chunky caseback! To Tourby for his perfect crowns! And to my watchmaker bud who put all the ingredients together! So, here's the laundry list: FGD 201a dial with Genuine The Zigmeister Tritium lume, light varnish by my bud DSN pre-V case set LH CG - refinished by Blane-io and pin gorilla glued by me Swiss Unitas cleaned oiled and regulated by my bud T-48 crown Assembled by my bud Jakob caseback added by me Gunny 95 with fatty SC anchor buckle Wholesale outlet Pre-V screwtubes
  7. I think it looks beautiful as is and I wouldn't F with it I know The Zigmeister does some beautiful varnishing on Simon's dials but if you don't have the right varnish or in most cases the right airbrush to apply it you can get globules and specs of coating that will be visable in the finish I had Rex varnish my beautiful 201A dial ONLY because there were some visable hairline scratches in the finish and a sort of black smudge spot in it from changing owners hands 2 or 3 times and getting some unintentional travel abuse. I sent him a can of Tamiya TS-90 as many who have done it say that it has the best finest flow and most accurate finish and works best if you don't have an airbrush Were there no handling abuse on the dial I never would have touched it though. It has The Zigmeister's tritium lume and is I believe a 1st gen Simon dial Unless you are going to have Zig do it I would leave it as is, looks beautiful and I call dibs if you ever sell it!!
  8. This is exciting!! Simon your 203a dial and Jakob your 203a caseback need one of these to snuggle with!!
  9. Holy Crap Chris Stunning Gorgeous work from Zig Simon!! We need to talk After seeing this dial my 203a dial looks like mincemeat!
  10. Wow K Genaliscious!! I wanna snuggle with your watchbox
  11. My reciepe is to be friend's with a Blane-io! Get a Jakob caseback and voila!!!!!!!!!!!
  12. THanks all Yes my photskills suck but my Pam collection makes the Risti's weep! This is actually my second new style bracelet as I sold my 299K to fund this. Love the new bracelet. Very comfortable and distributes the weight of the watch very well
  13. Gen 297L arrived today to join Gen 240K, Gen 219J, Gen 177H and Franken Fiddy and Franken 10D. FGD 201A arrives next week for the party!
  14. Thanks young Alex I know the LH and V's are better but I am really going to try to stick with a budget on this baby because of my recent gen splurging. The only way I am spending over a $150 on a CG is if it a gen I just hope the case project comes through! I'd prefer to save my budget money for one of the first Pre-V cases and the Avitt bath
  15. Crockey Lured me in with more FGD stuff, now what do I do???? FGD and Jakob 203A I received Crockey's new unlumed FGD 203a dial and Jakob caseback yesterday. I had no intention of another build since I just bought that gen 297 last week and screwed up my Franken 10D and FGD 201a the previous week But I am a sick son of a ***** and in all fairness I am PVD -less, besides the final build could either make another Wristie happy or I can get myself a hell of a trade The Dial is going to be lumed by Everest So now what? I am in no hurry on this one, I have no doubt the lume will be stunning but I prob won't see the dial for a month or more anyway after I send it Prob going to go with another Getat case set since the last one turned out nicely (UNLESS THE PRE_V CASE PROJECT IS READY SOOOOOOOOOOOOON ), wholesale pre-v lug tube screws, T crown, then a wholesale CG since the one I just gave to Rex as a present was suprisingly good and the LH's are gone along with my fav the V Cg's Then I guess an Avitt bath at some point What do you kids think?
  16. LOL Another winner Miles. I may need to recruit you to fly out and take my pics for me. More Kudos to Simon and Jakob!
  17. Holy mother of god!! And I have a Jakob 203a caseback and a FGD 203a dial just sitting on my dining room table waiting for a new home That's stunning
  18. Thanks dudes Yes the Bracelet GMT only comees with Black subdial, a look I actually prefer on the dial layout
