As much as we love Pams Hate to say it but no one can touch Rolex wi respect to QC. Especially their service ceter. I just sent my F series TT sub into the service center for it's 4 year tuneup and it came back looking better than when I bought it from my AD I have also owned several Omegas. Three diff Planet Oceans and one of them had a movement that died 6 months after purchase. It was sent to Omega for service and cam back only to die again a week later. THey finally got it right two months later but the point is that even with what many of us consider high end gens, there is the potential for issues (except Rolex for the most part) I also owned a new Mercedes Benz ML350 a couple years ago that two days i drove it off the lot the amplifyier pooched out and had to be replaced (no I don't play my music loud, there was a bad circuit in the factory amp. Sh*t happens

Thanks all Franken Fiddy ain't going anywhere. Unless the coming super rep is made by the Richemont group it won't compare with OEM I think I may keep the Franken 005K (maybe) and sell the OEM dial and hand set I have incoming If anyone wants a set of OEM 005K dial and hands let me know, should be here by the beginning of next week

exactly my thoughts Warren I own four gen pams a 219J, 87G, 297L and 240-296K Love em all but I don't know that I love them more than a well done Franken Dunno I suppose I cherish my Gen Rollies more I owned a gen 177H for some time but I find myself getting the same satisfaction wi the Franken 177L,

As many of you have seen, I have a Franken 005K for sale. The ONLY reason I am selling it is the fact that I had it sold a month ago, along with my Franken 177L. They buyer paid me a deposit, was unable to pay the balance and the sale died. During that time when I thought the buyer was solid I was offered another new stock OEM dial and hands from my friendly source. I also had a duplicate hybrid case set (111J case and CG with 005K crown and caseback) sitting on my watchmaker bud's desk. So thinking this one was gone (until two days ago) I had him go ahead and assemble another with swiss movement. I also have Franken Fiddy which I just sourced an OEM hand set for. This brings the build to: OEM crystal OEM movement OEM Dial OEm Hands OEM CG body EL's best mid case El's best bezel El shadow caseback wi sapphire glass And Franken 177L OEM Dial OEM Hands OEM movement H-fact 177L case set I guess my conundrum comes from the fact that I lose focus and start another Franken project before finishing the first. And that as satisfying as the hobby is (and I love it) at a certain point it would be more financially feasible to add more gens instead. My current plan is to keep one of the Franken 005K's, keep on track with Franken Fiddy and enhance Franken 177L with the new H-factory 177M crown and CG What say the experts?? Lose the Frankens and add a couplemore gens or continue on. I suppose I need reassurance that I am not sick in the head!!!

yeah I have a gen crystal but I missed the bezel from my same source I was told that I have the best EL version bezel for what it's worth. I know there were a few versions. We need to start a Franken 127-217 sub Forum. It's really a much more satisfying hobby when yoy finally break through the barriers and find "THE" guys with Pam service center connections. And more expensive

HA HA Yeah and box and papers This is the best EL midcase though. They (the pseudo pamxperts) say it could pass the Pam service center mustard

I have seen plenty of little nitpicker nits on various Pam gens I have owned. A spec under the crystal, an auto whose date starting flipping over at 11:40. That looks pretty sh*tty though

Warren not to cop out but I would say it is on Par with most Paci's and Dirk's. Medium. Not chuncky like an Ammo, not think like OEM. Prob on Par wi most Orloff's as well Just picked up a set of OEM Hands as well!!!

Thanks brother, agreed. I have three straps in the Franken Fiddy rotation. A Gunny, the Stone Creek Gator and this (my fav) a Paci Querciabella in Camel. Have the same strap in 24mm on my gen 87G

Beauty Warren Calf or no calf Most OEM gators look like high end calf grain anyhoo I have a stunning Stone Creek Gator in congac wi a high patina. Not an every day wear on my Franken Fiddy but every once in a while it's a nice change of pace

Broke down and ordered one from Josh today even though I have to many damn watches. Maybe I'll sell the ubder FGD 201A afterall Looks great though!
