Payment Methods... am I safe?

Looking to sell a few pieces, and a couple of buyers have expressed their interest in paying via bank wire.

I've never used this method to buy or sell anything and was wondering if giving out my bank information (whatever the minimum info is) for a wire transfer is safe?

Any help would be appreciated.

I believe that it is possible to set up a standing order on the account, paying money into another account - Jeremy Clarkson had this done to him when he wrote his details in his newspaper column. Someone set up a Direct Debit or Standing Order for

At the end of the day you need to be comfortable with the sale regardless of what method you use.

There shouldn't be a need to set up payment in a way that it can't be charged back as long as you pick your buyer and you do the right thing on your side.

Account transfer should be the safest way of all to receive payments. Unless your bank does not adhere to the most basic safety and verification guidelines, that is (in which case you really ought to switch banks). I have a sh*tload of account numbers of people I don't know, but have at some point bought or sold from/to, but there's not a thing I can do with them without also knowing their pin codes or internet banking log-ins.

Postal orders, by the way, have been outdated in many countries for years and can't necessarily be obtained any more. If I were to receive a PO from someone, it would cost me at least $30 to have it cashed since they've been discontinued here for ages.
