hackR Posted December 11, 2009 Report Posted December 11, 2009 if only the crystal was thicker... ...it's not!...sooooooo, I just swapped in the taller rep rehaut to replace the shorter gen rehaut... ...a la Ubi!...... what a difference a gen dial makes - very BRIGHT!!!... enjoy - R oldskool v1 titanium Seawolf; gen dial, rep rehaut, 24 hour UTC module, swiss 2824-2, Jakub/k2222 double AR SD4K's Avenger Seawolf test/review
krpster Posted December 11, 2009 Report Posted December 11, 2009 Looks fantastic! Is the quality difference noticeable with the rep rehaut next to the gen dial? Looks good in the pic.
Bike Mike Posted December 11, 2009 Report Posted December 11, 2009 Nice to see it work out R. Liking the UTC as well.
andreww Posted December 11, 2009 Report Posted December 11, 2009 A true classic. Possibly the first super-rep, certainly the first Breitling anyway. I'll never understand why they stopped making these so soon!

Thanks, Guys... @krpster --> in color, the rep rehaut is actually pretty close to the gen dial - but a tad lighter...almost unnoticeable, tho...the numbers and ticks on the rep rehaut are larger, too - so they stand out a bit more...since the crystal on the gen is 4.5mm or so thick, the gen rehaut is short...the rep crystal isn't 4.5mm, thus creating the gap between the installed rehaut/dial and crystal...even with the rep rehaut, there's a small 1mm gap - but again, hardly noticeable...the rep rehaut has the same feet as the gen rehaut, so it's an easy fit... see pix below of the gen rehaut installed... R- gen rehaut installed... rep rehaut installed...
Mickey Padge Posted December 16, 2009 Report Posted December 16, 2009 Nice I wonder if a thicker crystal from the new steel Seawolf would fit the old ti case?
maxman Posted December 19, 2009 Report Posted December 19, 2009 Nice I wonder if a thicker crystal from the new steel Seawolf would fit the old ti case? I was thinking the same thing
hackR Posted December 21, 2009 Author Report Posted December 21, 2009 anyone with a - gulp - ss Seawolf... measurements of the crystal diameter?... what's the thickness on the new ss Seawolf crystal?... gotta tell ya - i really like the taller rep rehaut...and the gap between top of the rehaut and the crystal is pretty darn small - slightly less 1mmm...but then again, with the thinner crystal, i won't be able to go down 3000m?!... R-
Mickey Padge Posted December 21, 2009 Report Posted December 21, 2009 The rep steel Seawolf crystal is very thick like the gen, whereas the rep ti crystal is about half the thickness, see here: As for the measurements, sorry, I don't know, but it would be cool to fit the thicker crystal with the genuine rehaut ring
