prdubis Posted January 21, 2010 Report Posted January 21, 2010 Hi there, My A7750 rotor is very noisy, I hear it rolling every time I move the wrist... Anyone know how to solve that? Thank you!
Toadtorrent Posted January 21, 2010 Report Posted January 21, 2010 Even the gen is noisy...but not as noisy as the Asian version. The solution is proper servicing. Look at the link on the noisy rotor in the Noob Guide linked in my signature.
rosnik Posted January 21, 2010 Report Posted January 21, 2010 It happen on ASIA , the main bearing is too low quality.
Ronin Posted January 21, 2010 Report Posted January 21, 2010 KT-22 FTW. http://www.ofrei.com/page245.html Even after having an A7750 properly serviced by "the man - Zigmeister" it was still naturally loud.
Toadtorrent Posted January 21, 2010 Report Posted January 21, 2010 From Gisbert L. Brunner's fantastic article "The Fall and Rise of the Valjoux 7750" from the June-2008 issue of Watch Time: "In addition, some wearers are conscious of the sound the rotor makes. It occurs because the large oscillating weight with its heavy metal segment can reach very high speeds when rotating in its non-winding direction. The sound is unavoidable, however, and shouldn
prdubis Posted January 21, 2010 Author Report Posted January 21, 2010 Thank you for your knowledge! I've just sent my black theme for servicing, reluming and waterproofing! Hope service will help... Will post pics as soon as I get it back!
Toadtorrent Posted January 21, 2010 Report Posted January 21, 2010 Like Rosnik said...there is the issue of poor Asian quality. I've had some serviced where they came back silent, and others come back definitely quieter and smoother but not silent. This could be because of different factories making the movement and different levels of quality.
BrianSW510 Posted January 22, 2010 Report Posted January 22, 2010 I was considering getting a Breitling Skyland... not a fan of loud watches though.
lanikai Posted January 22, 2010 Report Posted January 22, 2010 I've taken a little lube oil that I got from Ofrei and applied a little the ball bearings in the rotor with very good results..i just used a toothpick to the ball bearings in the rotor..gear lube .. I cannot remember the exact name of it.. comes in a small white bottle and is thick in it's consistency..

Samurai Posted January 22, 2010 Report Posted January 22, 2010 I had re same issue with the three FM kings I got. used the silicone lube that came with O/S's toolkit. The rotor became absolutely silent after that.
Toadtorrent Posted January 22, 2010 Report Posted January 22, 2010 I was considering getting a Breitling Skyland... not a fan of loud watches though. Funny thing is...my Skyland is one of the few watches I haven't had serviced, and it's one one of the quietest...funny that. Gotta love reps...
