For a budget of $500 USD ...

A friend of mine is highly interested in a Rolex rep. He collects watches and has an impressive collection of gens to include Rolex GMT and Zenith Defy, along with about two Omegas.

He has a budget of $500 to purchase a Rolex rep. What would be the most "true to the gen" Rolex rep out there now? It does not have to be a Submariner, or anything complicated. It just has to look real good.

PS - I'm assuming that he will send it for lume after receiving it.

Something from WM9 if he can stretch the budget.

If he can stretch the budget a bit more, a franken of some kind.

He could probably build a datejust out of gen parts (bar the movement) for that price.

With the BK WM9 Submariner, he won't have to send it for a relume! But it costs $600 for V3. Didn't V2 used to run $530 shipped in CONUS- still no need for a relume.

Tribal considers v2 better than v3. Dunno about that but I guess they're both excellent. Actually the v1 (PT Super Sub) is quite amazing too... very underrated rep and it had the best SELs ever.

Funny, after getting v2 with superlume and everything I kinda miss my v1 with Flat S. I loved that rep. I think you can still get it for less than $300. Great value!
