demis
After a lot of reading from this forum and some fantastic info in the wonderful world of reps it is time to give back some of what i have earned from the rep forums... I present the new SuperOcean Heritage with the corrected dial (that aligns the A in Automatic and the p from the suPerocean that is above it). the watch has very good feeling nice weight and resembles the gen really a lot...! first of all, PT had the old model in his website but after my request he managed to provide this one... Transaction was good and no customs problem, since he posts from UK (i am located in EU). the watch came without scratches. It has an asian eta copy 2824 ( i have not opened it yet but i take PT word for it. ) The bezel looks really nice and it has a nice grip when you want to turn it. In hand it looks dominant and for my large size hand it is perfect. I already got compliment on how it looks. Ita has the sport elegant look, and i believe with the addition of the mesh (chain style) bracelet it will look really elegant. So dressing couldn't be a problem either with a suite or with jeans. case back looks nice and it is quite close to the gen (it helps that it is not that complicated). AntiReflect coating is there for sure although it does still reflect images and it is not as good as if someone would coat it again from some AR experts from this forum... Now some differences to the gen the s in the superocean has a slight curve on the original wich is not present in the rep but it soooo minor that you cant really notice it. Another difference is that the date dial has a very litle yellowish tint instead of bright white. Finally as you might observe the lume job in this one was not perfect. At 8 and at 11 the luminova drops are misaligned. The rubber strap is really nice it resembles very much to the original and it has a nice feature for diving, it adjusts the length of the strap by a cm approximately by just pushing down the inside of the clasp (enlarge) while the pushing horizontally to the strap tightens it and locks steadily to its place . This is helpful when wearing it with a diving wet suit (when you need a larger diameter) and then switch to normal bare wrist length. The wings emblem in the strap is really nicely shaped , only observation is that it is slightly catchy to certain cloths so i somehow must polish -smoothen its edges without really damaging it. Finally the luminosity of the watch is quite good and comparable to my gen tissot in fainting by time. It does not have a lot of it as you can understand since the design itself does not allow a lumi-torch, but it will do its job. The pic was taken after placing it for 30 sec under light bulb. Conclusion... I am very happy with this watch . I think it is very elegant it has style it is one of the most accurate reps to the gens that you can find. it does not have a busy dial and its presence dominates the hand. By-Tor
Excellent rep & review. I really like this model a lot, too. Simple is sometimes beautiful and it's a nice "alternative" Breitling for people who don't like the usual busy dials on them. Thanks for taking the time! Toadtorrent
And put back to the community you have with this post!! This is a great rep. Thanks for taking the time to do this. Nice pics...nice write-up...keep 'em coming!!! BTW...if you use an "offline" picture hosting site like Photobucket or whatever, and link to the pics directly instead of "posting" them in the thread, you can get the pics right in line with your post so it can read more like an article with illustrative pics. Size them for about 800x600...and you're good to go. Thanks for this!
tech
Great review! This is probably the only Breitling along with the SOH Chrono that I am coveting I want to add to the collection. It just ooze class. Clean, uncluttered, simple...I'm sure the Rolex and Panny lovers love this watch too... Thanks for the post!
mastrmindalliance
Absolutely agree. A beautiful timepiece both gen and rep. Classic lines. Simple but not exactly retro and my example (perhaps they are all like this?) is spot on. Everything is straight and aligned. As many state, no one ever comments on others watches, but this one gets much attention: "wow, that's cool, can I have a look". Even chicks dig it. I've only had mine for a fortnight but I already want the chrono. IMHO, it's the best rep I own. Congrats Demis! Oh, one strange thing on this one, it wears smaller on wrist with the mesh than with rubber. Usually the other way round.
dovo1695
Congrats on a beautiful watch. I really enjoyed reading your review, I'm considering picking one of these up myself and it's great to know exactly what to ask for and look for. Thanks for taking the time to write this up! Toadtorrent
Even chicks dig it. I've only had mine for a fortnight but I already want the chrono. I've said it a bunch before...but every time I see your Edna Mode avatar it makes me laugh. As to the OP's SOH...even without super powers, he'll still look fabulous anyway. Simple is sometimes beautiful and it's a nice "alternative" Breitling for people who don't like the usual busy dials on them. Thanks for taking the time! My thoughts exactly!
