danza1812
I have 2 franken UPO's First one I did the crown and tube swap with no problem. Stem fits into crown at exact same length as before and movement worked fine. On my second project, I snapped the stem, s got a replacement stem for the eta 2824. However then gen stems must be ever so slightly shorther than the jap eta'sand it doesnt engage the movement correctly. Anyone got a spare stem from a UPO? Or know where i can get one of these ever so slighly longer stems?

Toadtorrent
I've just gone to a watch repair guy locally in Toronto and they have either replacement stems or stem extenders.
Toadtorrent
The cost is minimal...way cheaper than mail order if there's a watch repair person close by. If you bring in your watch to a little corner repair guy and say you need a stem for an ETA 2836 or 2824 or whatever it is...that should be pretty easy. Pugwash
I've been looking for the longer stems for a few months now. It's great on rep tube/crown but when you put the gens in, it's just too long. What I've managed on my UPO is to file 0.5mm off the end of tube and it seems to work. Time will tell, and it's still a quite tight fit. What others do is only put the stem in the crown part-way and loctite it.
Francisco
stem extender is the solution. Very cheap and easy fix.
Pugwash
stem extender is the solution. Very cheap and easy fix. I would love to see how to extend a stem. Do you have a tutorial?
danza1812
Ive seen the extenders on ebay, I expect some precise snapping of the stem and extender is required to get the extra length? I only need about half a mil. Could I get s stem straight from a rep factory through a dealer?
