Toadtorrent Posted April 15, 2010 Report Posted April 15, 2010 Hey folks...it appears RedWatch...our very own Noob-of-the-Year (even though at the rate he's moving is definitely no Noob) will be in the area and we're thinking of doing a short GTG. The initial date that seems good is Friday, May 14...somewhere downtown ideally. So far...we're hoping for at least RedWatch, Andreww and myself in attendance...and are now wondering if others might be around as well? Let's see if we can do a bit of a GTG!!
hackR Posted April 16, 2010 Report Posted April 16, 2010 argh....bad weekend for me...but i would soooooo be there..... great chance to meet A and Red...and to attend a yoga viewing with the King Toad...
Toadtorrent Posted April 16, 2010 Author Report Posted April 16, 2010 Hah hah...yeah...the viewing is something!! There's gotta be a v-ball tourney in the area HackR!!
Katerchen Posted April 16, 2010 Report Posted April 16, 2010 TORONTO?? .. . . . . . . . . . . . Wheres that??? Gorge
Toadtorrent Posted April 17, 2010 Author Report Posted April 17, 2010 Heh heh...yeah...it's not quite Munich...but hey...gotta make do with what we have.
Katerchen Posted April 17, 2010 Report Posted April 17, 2010 lol @toad yeah... sorry May "teh true Kanadians" forgive me! I was originally trying to "mimic" an average American lol... Europe? Wheres that? But dont want to mix up guys... i heard (i have friends in toronto from greece) you canadians are pretty "laid-back" and smarter than americans too (PLS may no US resident read this post so ill get stone to death) BUT Canadians BEWARE!! I also heard some US guys making HUGE PROGRESS on this issue! After having found where exactly the US lies and still is located... they found the Iraq, than also Afghanistan... Hopefully they will never find out WHERE exactly Canada or Toronto lies (i keep it secret) Too bad, my bathing trunks are in the dirty laundry otherwise i would consider "chiming in" your Toronto GTA from Europe - the atlantic can be lil cold at that season The best to you friends!! George
redwatch Posted April 17, 2010 Report Posted April 17, 2010 It amazes me, living in Los Angeles, how many people think that Toronto is on the West Coast!!! Cracks me up every time!! I even saw a car full of Americans at the Niagara Falls border crossing with ski's on ski racks in the middle of July!
Dave123 Posted April 17, 2010 Report Posted April 17, 2010 Since Andrew promises to buy me a beer or 18,well....
Toadtorrent Posted April 17, 2010 Author Report Posted April 17, 2010 lol @toad yeah... sorry ... Too bad, my bathing trunks are in the dirty laundry Heh heh...yeah...there are many that just don't get their geography. I'm not one to talk mind you. I've seen cars up here in the summer time from the US with skis on top..hmmm...we're north...but not that bad.
Katerchen Posted April 17, 2010 Report Posted April 17, 2010 @all Just out of curiosity: Is it true that most of canadians (also Toronto) choose to leave their homes "unlocked" when going out or even at night when sleeping? Is that something as an "urban-myth" they sell us in EU or somehow practised? George
mactower Posted April 17, 2010 Report Posted April 17, 2010 LOL I wouldn't practice leaving my door unlocked in Toronto (however in my condo, I'll leave it unlocked to run out for milk or whatever) though I know once you get out of the city / suburbs, a number of people leave their houses unlocked. I can't tell you the number of times I've been north to the Muskokas and the cottages are unlocked while we're out on a boat trip / beer run / into town. When you're in a smaller town / community, and you know your neighbours, you relax on the "security" of your property to an extent.
Katerchen Posted April 17, 2010 Report Posted April 17, 2010 Thanks Mac on brightening up my knowledge But DAMN!! i cant believe (looked it up) we EU people got scammed by Michael Moore - this was stated in one of his films... He represented Canadians as such "frightening" people that they even dont need to lock up their homes against burglars! Knowing girls such as Pamela Anderson... or Evangelista and others i highly doubted Moore on that one anyway George
Iron Mike Posted April 18, 2010 Report Posted April 18, 2010 I might be down with a GTG; downtown TO is bit of a haul for me though, especially for a Friday. Will have to see how the work schedule pans out.
Anguz Posted April 18, 2010 Report Posted April 18, 2010 Im in Niagara but moving to London, England on May the 17th...will be too busy around that time. Would have loved to go. Have fun. Don't drink too much. Sorry, what I meant to say is...do drink too much! Cheers.
krustybrand Posted April 19, 2010 Report Posted April 19, 2010 I think I'm working that day until 8pm out in the 'burbs, but if it will run late into the evening, I'd go for sure.

Toadtorrent Posted April 19, 2010 Author Report Posted April 19, 2010 That's right Dave...Andrew and I will split the bill on a beer if you come in and buy a new gen.
Toadtorrent Posted April 20, 2010 Author Report Posted April 20, 2010 ...anybody have suggestions where?
mactower Posted April 20, 2010 Report Posted April 20, 2010 Hey Toad, Tons of places downtown to go for drinks though if folks are bringing a bunch of reps to show, some thought into some place a little more discreet may be in order? M.
