highoeyazmuhudee Posted May 7, 2010 Report Posted May 7, 2010 is this a good reproduction 1665 dial? worth $150? a "refurb" on a singer plate rail dial
Nanuq Posted May 7, 2010 Report Posted May 7, 2010 Pretty nice! The "minute" tick marks are pretty long, but there are lots of good details there.
Nanuq Posted May 7, 2010 Report Posted May 7, 2010 A picture is worth 1,000 words... More details: http://doubleredseadweller.com/rail_white_sd.htm
kbh Posted May 7, 2010 Report Posted May 7, 2010 Thanks Nanuq. OP (with the long and hard to pronounce name), If you decide not to get it, would you let me know where to look. I might be interested.
BrianT Posted May 7, 2010 Report Posted May 7, 2010 A picture is worth 1,000 words... Just learned something new today!! Thanks I never knew that before. More details: http://doubleredseadweller.com/rail_white_sd.htm
ubiquitous Posted May 7, 2010 Report Posted May 7, 2010 Ahhh... So another Rail surfaces. The only other Reproduction Rail I've seen was for an Explorer 16550. This one is okay, but not great. The fonts are all off, as are the coronet, and size of indicies. The chapter ticks are decent, and should be fairly long in length. Also, one detail they got right is the 'T SWISS T < 25' luminous signing at 6:00. True Rails were manufactured by Stern, so the Singer stamping is incorrect. But who's going to be looking at the back of the dial once installed in the watch?
