Patek Philippe Aquanaut Jumbo V2

I just received a PP Aquanaut Jumbo V2 from Joshua - Overall I am very impressed with the watch, unfortunately there are 2 little nicks in the bezel from pressing in the crystal - at least that's what I assume.

The movement seems to be a Sellita SW200 and not as advertised an ETA 2824 - not that it matters since the Sellita is a Swiss Movement and a clone of the 2824 :-)

Here are some quick pictures that I just took - sorry forgot to remove the movement sticker on the back ;-)

i wish this was a little bigger than 40mm ... i'd be all over it. very nice watch and pictures! thanks for sharing.

I hear you - I am also used to wearing bigger watches - but the PP is actually perfect in 40mm, I don't think it would look good any bigger than it is :-)

I have the MBW version. This is one 40mm watch which fits me to a T, which speaks volumes on the original Patek design.

The MBW is not a jumbo, it's the 38mm. I get so confused with PP sizes. Some say they measure their watches diagonally instead of across (I think?) actually making what they call 40mm, a 42mm compared to the standard.

This makes sense as everyone seems to believe the "40mm" is large enough...

Awesome watch btw!

This one came from one of our trusted dealers - Joshua - here is a link to his section:

I need the opinion of one of you specialists.

As i asked my dealer regarding the Sellita in the V2 Parek Aquanaut he told me the factory can swap it with the movement from this Tag rep instead (supposed to be a Swiss ETA).

Would you do it - or stick with the Sellita ?

Thanks !!

There is no reason to switch from Sellita to ETA in particular considering the the Swiss ETA you will get will likely be of the lowest ETA quality + the Sellita's finish is actually nicer than ETA's

  • 3 months later...

The pics looks really sharp and well shot.. but am I the only one that sees some chips in the slots on the caseback where the wrench goes. I realize $400 bucks is a lot less than the 15-25k for the real one. Is it unrealistic to expect something a little closer to perfection?

My friend just bought the real thing.. and I wanted to get one to bust his balls a little for spending what he did :)
