Watchmeister Posted May 23, 2010 Report Posted May 23, 2010 Looks really good. Out of curiousity, did you start with seconds at nine version and did Domi do the case alteration to adjust for the crown? In any case, wear that one well.
Guest Daytona1984 Posted May 23, 2010 Report Posted May 23, 2010 hey, indeed i started with a second @ nine since the case is thiner (closer to the gen). the watch wasn't built by domi. i had another watchmaker best, dom Looks really good. Francisco Posted May 23, 2010 Report Posted May 23, 2010 hey, indeed i started with a second @ nine since the case is thiner (closer to the gen). the watch wasn't built by domi. i had another watchmaker best, dom very nice franken. can you tell us whether getting gen parts was hard? regards, Francisco
Guest Daytona1984 Posted May 23, 2010 Report Posted May 23, 2010 (edited) hey francisco, sometimes you have the chance to grap a nice dial on the bay, but finding gen hands is a pain in the a.. but if you are a patient guy, there won't be any problems best, dom very nice franken. can you tell us whether getting gen parts was hard? regards, Francisco Edited May 23, 2010 by Daytona1984
Watchmeister Posted May 23, 2010 Report Posted May 23, 2010 Gotta agree. The hardest parts to find are the hands and the crown. When they come up grab them. You can always relume the hands to whichever particular watch you want to make.
HauteHippie Posted May 23, 2010 Report Posted May 23, 2010 Nice one to round out an impressive collection!
OSRep Posted May 24, 2010 Report Posted May 24, 2010 I cant see the pics for some reason , but just from the list of parts I can assume this is one heck of a watch!! EDIT: I can now see the pictures and I love it even more. This is one of my favourite ROO dials. Truly beautiful.
deniz21 Posted May 25, 2010 Report Posted May 25, 2010 cawaaabaannnga very nice watch, maybe i would have choose another dial, but thats only my personal taste. this partlist is awsome and thats a real nice watch enjoy it

redwatch Posted May 25, 2010 Report Posted May 25, 2010 Stunning! Gotta disagree with deniz - I love that dial!!!
Katerchen Posted May 25, 2010 Report Posted May 25, 2010 How come i didnt saw this thread before?? Congrats on a unique and very nice AP franken! Greetings from Germany George
thewax Posted May 27, 2010 Report Posted May 27, 2010 hey, indeed i started with a second @ nine since the case is thiner (closer to the gen). the watch wasn't built by domi. i had another watchmaker best, dom I was looking at case thicknesses on Joshua's website, and his sec@12 is thinner than the sec@9. The sec@12 I believe is 15.5mm and the sec@9 is 17mm. Is this a recent change to the sec@12 case?
Guest Daytona1984 Posted May 27, 2010 Report Posted May 27, 2010 no, the sec @9 is thiner because of the missing gears... thewax Posted May 27, 2010 Report Posted May 27, 2010 no, the sec @9 is thiner because of the missing gears... Does that mean the collectors' websites are wrong ? I want a case size closer to the gen.
rosnik Posted May 27, 2010 Report Posted May 27, 2010 The sec at 9 got the pusher and crown not aligned like Gen, and I suppose that only there you can get Dubois-Depraz module , like gen.
Guest Daytona1984 Posted May 27, 2010 Report Posted May 27, 2010 i can just tell you what my watchsmith told me and he should know... he finished this project 2 years ago, maybe at this time there were different modells out there... Does that mean the collectors' websites are wrong ? I want a case size closer to the gen.
Watchmeister Posted May 27, 2010 Report Posted May 27, 2010 I would guess the details on the cartel seconds at 9 is either wrong or they have a totally different model in which case you lose the better finish work on the MBW.
mt666tm Posted May 28, 2010 Report Posted May 28, 2010 nice work... and very nice choice for the dial. My favorite AP dial!
