jmb Posted May 30, 2010 Report Posted May 30, 2010 Now that my cases, bands, and hands got here yesterday I decided to put together my latest Tudor project. I had won a gen NOS Prince Oysterdate dial off flea-bay a while back and was waiting for everything to come together and the planets to align. That happened this weekend! Parts list: Rep 34mm Tudor case Gen Prince Oysterdate dial ETA 2836-2 movement Rep silver Datejust hand set Rep Tudor SS band Nothing really exciting to say about building this as the gen dial feet pop right into the holes on an ETA 2836 so no dial gluing, misc. machining, or date wheel overlay work involved. Really, this would be the perfect project for somebody just starting to get their feet wet. Pardon what looks like a fuzzy or piece of dirt on the dial as I didn't see it until I was "processing" the pics. I'll pop the crystal and get out the Rodico later... On to the pics:
jmb Posted May 30, 2010 Author Report Posted May 30, 2010 It fit like a glove, this is one of the 34mm cases I ordered samples of...
ubiquitous Posted May 30, 2010 Report Posted May 30, 2010 Looks great, J! I love the band on that one!
jmb Posted May 30, 2010 Author Report Posted May 30, 2010 That's the band style hackR turned me on to and I now have one on the Chrono as well!
Slartibartfast Posted May 30, 2010 Report Posted May 30, 2010 Superb work (again). Your projects are an inspiration!
redwatch Posted May 30, 2010 Report Posted May 30, 2010 Nice J! Looking really great! +1 on the band! I love it!
jmb Posted May 30, 2010 Author Report Posted May 30, 2010 T, yeah, I fell in love with the dial as soon as I saw it!
TeeJay Posted May 30, 2010 Report Posted May 30, 2010 I think I saw an identical dial, which would fit in a 36mm case for sale as well, that might well have to be a future project for me
gplracer Posted May 31, 2010 Report Posted May 31, 2010 (edited) JMB! nice job! I hope to have a monte carlo soon! I have Tudor envy! What are some sources of rep Tudor parts besides yuki and J&W? Edited May 31, 2010 by gplracer
