RobbieG Posted July 17, 2010 Report Posted July 17, 2010 I found this and had never seen it, maybe others have but I thought I would share it. Someone was mentioning something in that Patek thread about the Lange & Sohne balance [censored] engraving. There are some cool images of that process in this video...

lhooq Posted July 17, 2010 Report Posted July 17, 2010 Someone was mentioning something in that Patek thread about the Lange & Sohne balance [censored] engraving. Now, now... There's no need for profanity.
redwatch Posted July 17, 2010 Report Posted July 17, 2010 That is very very cool! I can't even imaging the skills required to hand engrave such a small piece with such detail and precision! Gives one a whole new respect for the work involved in making such a fine timepiece.
krpster Posted July 17, 2010 Report Posted July 17, 2010 That is amazing! I can't even imagine how steady your hand needs to be to do that. The degree of sensitivity...surgeon level I would think. Very cool.
Sl1deways Posted July 19, 2010 Report Posted July 19, 2010 ...and one more focused on finishing in general: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IQHsWTx7lw4 He spends a week polishing the wall of each part of the watch!? I guess you can see how they can justify the price of gens when this much work goes into them.
dbutlerman Posted July 19, 2010 Report Posted July 19, 2010 Is this not how the factories in China make our reps?
BROM Posted July 19, 2010 Report Posted July 19, 2010 Thanks for the post. Never seen this before and It's amazing how much work goes into this watches.
