Thanks for the link, very interesting! This goes a long way to dispel the myths that Rolex watches are built by old world magical craftsmen that live in a hollowed out Oak tree somewhere in a Swiss forest.

Very nice read, rolexaddict. I liked this part:

Here the robot is used to simulate a year of wear in only two days, it spins the ‘watch’ through any possible position under high acceleration (much higher than a human would ever do) whilst occasionally slamming the ‘watch’ into a rubber cushioned bench (cushioned to protect the robot, not the watch).

So the old advertising claim that "it takes a year to make a Rolex" is true! Sort of...

Hell, if Rolex needs to simulate a year's worth of wear in just a day, they can hire my wife to wear one of their QC samples. She'll give it TWO years' worth of wear in as much time as some silly robot can do it...
