Speedy Pro Lovers Weigh-in

Thinking of giving the bracelet on my Speedmaster Professional a rest during the winter months. The deployant clasp is on its way but I still haven't decided on which leather strap I want to buy. Many have suggested the Hirsch Medici, which fits nicely with its curved ends.

I will be wearing this strap both at work and at play.

Please weigh-in with your thoughts and suggestions. I am open to opinions on both style and color.

Speedmaster, you say? Interested in a leather strap, are you?

Golden-brown Medici. Darker than it looks in photos, much darker after a few weeks of wear.

Looks like the Medici fits like a glove. Easy decision there....now just the colour. Hmmm I'd say black with a light coloured stitch, but that's just me.

If I'm not mistaken, LHOOQ's strap started life looking like the first picture in my post; golden brown.

It certainly aged well with an amazing patina!

The secret ingredient... is sweat! Several weeks before that picture was taken, I'd been on vacation in Kyoto and spent half the day walking around in 35C heat. The aging process took just a few hours. Once the top layer of the strap went damp... that was it. The following day I had it on a NATO strap to prevent further damage.

Omega makes a very nice, black, curved-end rally strap for the 18mm deployant (OME-98000024). At $151 on Ofrei, it's way more expensive than Hirsch, but it's a relative bargain as far as OEM Omega straps go.

What about an ATG-Vintage Racing Strap? I'm sure they would make a great team!

Omega makes a very nice, black, curved-end rally strap for the 18mm deployant (OME-98000024). At $151 on Ofrei, it's way more expensive than Hirsch, but it's a relative bargain as far as OEM Omega straps go.

I've always liked a rally strap on the Speedmaster, of course I can't find a photo with a black strap on my old Speedy that DB2 now owns. I have a black smooth calf skin version from Squinky like the photo below with a signed Omega SS buckle -it's yours if you want it, I've only worn it 3-4 times.
