jmb
I started looking at my Small Rose project trying to visualize what it was going to look like with my new mcotter strap when it got here and I remember thinking that even with some "aging" it still looked too new. I dug around in my junk box and found an old gold plated case from one of my movement donors. I machines a brass movement spacer and slapped everything together and although I'm not a fan of gold plated watches this one just looks right! I also feel the basic case styling is a better fit with the age of the dial. It looked really strange with a "Tugaris" case-back but to my surprise I found that a generic rep Datejust back screwed right on! Just a couple pics for your opinions... alligoat
Looks good, JB. A dark brown croc strap and you're there. This is a dk brown croc strap, just a bad pic.
jmb
mcotter is sending me a black strap, hopefully it will look good now that I've transferred the guts to the different case. I also may chuck the case-back in the lathe and try to give it a more "rounded" profile. goat - That's a sharp looking Air-King! LH - Slick! I don't think I've ever seen one even remotely like that dial.
