Watchmeister
I have noticed that an increasing number of folks are modding their better reps. I am an avid modder (with Ziggy's help) so I think it always helps to share information on what mods people are doing as it helps everyone (who cares) improve their watch. If you think this is a waste of time don't bother posting. I will go first: Breitling Chrono Avenger - New movement and dial. Picked up pristeen Swiss 7750 movement from great guy on Ebay Germany for $200 and OEM dial for $10 7753 Daylight - Finepics datewheel and new crowns when available. Superlume as well. Cannibalizing one defunct Asian 7750 in older case to mount Panda innards into it. 2893 GMT - Improved cyclops being offered in general discussion. New crowns when available and hoping Finepics elects to move forward on new datewheels. Lume. 2893 Power Reserve - All the above plus PVD thru Palp from OEM supplier to PAM MBW's (Ziggified Comex and Tribalized Red Sub) - Standard CG's, springbars, case rounding already done. Adding gen crown and tube. Doing a little lume work on the Comex. Modding items I have heard talked about but am waiting to be available: - Improved PAM crowns and crown guards (both chronos and non-chronos) - 2893 Datewheels - I am still begging Finepics - Cyclops for PAM's (those I know are coming) Does anyone else know what is on the horizon or have interesting resources? Cheers to all, and nice to see everyone coming over.
Quarks
Nice one kruzer00, would love to see the outcome of these great watches you have there. As for me, just these two for the moment: PAM 028 My watch came in with a different dial. Had to send it back to dealer for a change of dial, chinese supplier changed dial and send it back to me. Left with a few dings on the case. I am [censored]. SO DAMN [censored]. Seller not available at the moment so I thought, why not go for some modding. What I'll do is a general servicing of the watch (and possibly an illume from The Zigmeister.) After The Zigmeister's work is done, I'll have it bead-blasted and do a PVD makeover. Arktos 092 Watch DOA-ed. Exchanged for a new one. Again, DOA-ed. Again, [censored] off. Decided to do a project and get rid of the Asian 7750. Chatted with The Zigmeister and he hasn't done any work on this but willing to give it a shot. Planning to rehaul the 7750 and replace it with ______? The Zigmeister will be looking into this and hopefully, find a movement that will fit this watch. Wish me luck!

archibald
This is an embarrasment, but I have 8 mods or frankens in the works and have finished a grand total of ....zero--a pathetic record courtesy a six-year-old's attention span and the inability to find the right places to look for parts. Here we go: FM curvex chrono frankenmuller, white gold silver dial; need hands, crown tube. FM Long Island frankenmuller, rose gold, white dial; need hands FM Cortez Chrono frankenmuller--bronze dial to go with this hideous python strap I bought at a pawn shop; need 2824-2, hands, back engraving. PAM 036 and 029 combined to make the brown dial Ti version of the 029, which i think is the 155; need solid Ti back, redial PAM 51 mods--dial reprint, relume, date sticker, cyclops, AR, case rebrush, OEM guard; need cyclops, AR, redial TT El Primero frankentona for my dad; need el primero, hands, case Santos 100 mods--new, flat stone in crown, redial, rhodium platind of bezel screws, custom strap, case rebrush and polish--almost done w/ this one. Just need the dial sized. A PAM franken that will remain a secret because an OEM part is for sale somwhere and I don't want one of you guys to buy it before I get the dough to pick it up. sssurfer
Wow, I feel a noob. Ok, here are my little projects: 028: Case already to palpatine for PVD coating. Hope to get PVD coated palpatine crown too. Dial already to Finepics for reluming. Plan to send Finepics the crystal and one of the new cyclops for AR coating too. Plan to get a Finepics' 2893 datewheel too. 027: This was a low-cost watch that I got from TTK, with a PVD-like case but a flat (non-hobnail) dial. A new SS case is on its way to me from eBay (UK seller recommended by Finepics, nice price). Stem already installed on a Lello crown, waiting for a palpatine crown. 104 and/or 090: I know you are likely going to scream, but I plan to put gold hands on at least one of them. davidsenjpn already contacted for the new hands. ...And, on all, naturally the new cyclops that are coming!!!
