Additional photo's with a gen .

The gen is always on the left. Or underneath.

The biggest tell is the single AR , and the markers are whiter and brighter on the gen. Appart from this its very close

Great shots and I know even Josh states the rep has single AR but from what I can judge from the pictures is that it definitely has double AR. Maybe not as stong as the gen but I know how single AR looks and that crystal is everything but coated from one side.

1 sided AR on a UPO:

Not a big difference between a good one-side AR and a lousy DS AR.

Either way we have to recoat the crystal. :)

I'm seriously considering the cheap DG4813 version now :g:

If it takes real parts it is looking good. I kind of like it but it could really use an AR job. The dial looks good but in some of the photos the hands look a little off lol I am sure it is just the angle.

Signumboy, can you please take a really close pictures of both (Gen and rep) bezel pearls? Pleaaaaaaase! My PO is on its way and i want to compare them and maybe do a modification. Thanks!!

The only issue I Have with the pearl is, it looks dark compared to the gen. shape and size are good . A speck of white paint could be enough to fix it. But we are spliting hairs here.

Ok the lume....

I said before it was average rep lume , sorry I was wrong. Now its not superlume but it is a lot better than average lume. it is bright but probably not as long lasting as it could be. again I've got to say great bang for your buck.

@signumboy,

can you get a lume shot please? :)

@extraextra,

yes i noticed that too. do you think it's possible to sand/file the pearl insert to sit flush like the gen?

Posted

I notice in the comparison pics that the pearl on the gen is a bit more flush that the rep. the rep pearl has some height to it. anyone notice this too?

Unortunately rep pearls always seem to disappoint. How hard can it be?!

signumboy,

sorry to ask again :unsure:

could you please compare the bracelet gap?

Is the gen bracelet much better in this?

Thanks once more for sharing all your beautiful pics :)

Posted

No the bracelet is very very good . A lot shinier than previous ones I have had. But yes it does have a bigger gap to the end link, but over all these are minor issues .

Posted

thanks for the lume pic signumboy!!

Would you say that the lume is leaning towards green or white? (in daylight)

Daylight the markers are dull white compared to a brighter white on the gen.

Thanks mate, if we consider the a21j costs 130$ .. it's indeed a great rep :clapping:

As for the bracelet, I respectfully disagree though: minor issues are flaws we can fix at a reasonable cost.

In the 4th Gen PO the gap was really annoying and replacing a bracelet is not easy or cheap at all. :(

But maybe in this new version the gap is not so bad after all. :)

No need to say I would have preferred a flawed caseback or short hands. :rolleyes:
