Rolex Crowns

I have a list of Rolex crown applications but it seems there is some debate on what is right or not. Does anyone have, or can we make a definitive list/sticky of Rolex crowns?

I'd like to not only list the size, but part numbers, including 'Brevet' and '+' crowns, and pictures would be good too. 

This is what I have, but it doesn't cover the newer 'Retro' models like the GMT II 16710.

I agree with wiesn089, 6263 and 6265 have 7mm crown and tube and likewise the 6240 if it has screw-down pushers.

I think an Air King Date 5700/5701 may have a 5.3mm tube and crown as well as the 1500 series Date.

But some of this is tricky because the 600-602 crowns have 6mm tubes, but late model DJ's with the 603 crown have a 5.3mm tube.

And even though you have a 5.3mm tube, the crown will still probably measure around 6mm.

A few yearsw ago someone posted the Rolex crown chart which listed which crowns for which models.

According to Stefano Mazzariol's book "A Legend is Born":

Rolex Daytona 6240: Twinlock 700 winding crown (7mm)

Rolex Daytona 6263/6265: Twinlock 700 (7mm), from 1972 on Triplock 701, second half 70s Triplock 702 and from around 1982 Triplock 703.

Rolex Daytona 6238/6239/6241/6262/6264: Oyster Twinlock 600 (6mm)

During service they are all fitted with their crown's modern counterpart which is parts number 24-703-0 (7mm) and 24-600-0 (6mm) respectively.

All these crowns have different tubes to go with, so the challenge is not only sourcing the correct crown but also a matching tube which can be a real pain. If you put a Twinlock crown on your Cosmograph you might also want to exchange the pushers for correct ones from that era (parts number 24-p301 for 6263/6265) but these are ridiculously expensive.

I think the same chart will apply to Submariners (at least Ref. 1680 and 5513/5512). Until 72 Twinlock 700 and so on.
