What do you think of this gen TT Daytona?...

You know, when i found rep forums i was a gen Rolex owner,i did a google search one day and typed in "gold rolex" looking for a good buy on a gen day-date or something and came across RWG1,the rest is history, became a Breitling guy thru reps but my old love of rollies is coming back, well kinda always been there.

I have always been fond of TT Daytonas and the GMTIIc,i almost bought Flavor Flavs gen GMT but we were off by a grand a couple years ago when he started Lum-Tec and was getting rid of his other watches,i bailed on the rollie idea and kept on with Breits but here i am again....

Here is a 2005 TT Daytona in this link, jeweller is about a 45 min drive from me,what do you think here price wise and pics, seems a good buy.

BT where are ya buddy,i think i'm heading back home and though not your style, what say you bro.

Thanks guys.

Aside from the unavoidable obviousness of this watch, there is a line from the movie Amadeus that seems highly relevant here - 'Too many notes.'

I would say WAY too many notes.

This watch reminds me of those jelly beans with unique flavors, and you can mix them in your mouth, choc+Apple, strawberry+banana etc. Except the whole packet has been poured into one's mouth and they're struggling for breath as they for dear life...

Too many flavours... :)

P.S. That TT Dayt is similar, way too much going on... The suggestions are all sound ones, Steel all the way.

Diamonds on watches are for girls and rappers! No one else... My suggestion freddy is to go ss or at least a white face tt.. Just in case you'd decide to sell it.. It will be easier.. My exit watch will be the zenith powered 16520 with black subdials.. Daytonas are the cream of the crop!

Lol. Been wearing a SA with a 3 carat bezel for a few years now,no rapper or chick here but my chick does like it on me so all good.:)

Thanks for the SS ideas but i have owned a million of them and frankly,to boring for me.

Why drive my SL55 or Vette when there are Toyota Camry's type thing....;)

That's because you're a porn star :) but I agree with the 'unique' aspect, even Dayts are a bit run of the mill in Steel, but I think the peeps here are looking out for you long term in beig able to sell it easily. With the TT, you'd need to find another uniquely minded person to sell to, which could be tougher.

Heh... Didn't intend for this one to be an 'exit watch' but I haven't worn anything else in ages:

@Dave: If you want a TT Daytona, go for it. But among the collectors it's not even nearly as desirable as the stainless version. But of course that's important only if you decide to sell it one day. Generally, the TT versions are 2-3 grands cheaper in the preowned market.

You might want to check out the rep of "Black Widow" Daytona too. The gen is full white gold and I kinda like the dial.

Reps are excellent for "test drive"... to see if you actually like the style or not. Daytona is a legendary watch but it's not for me because I think it's too small for a chronograph. Yeah you heard it right, I like my chronographs a bit bigger. The smooth bezel and big protruding pushers makes it wear very small... a lot like Explorer II. I once borrowed Stephane's rep and I was really underwhelmed... I like the styling, it's classic Rolex but not how it wears. After SA and Skyland the difference is huge... maybe too much (for you anyway).

Thanks BT,oddly enough i forgot that the first watch i gave away on these forums was a TT daytona rep,i gave to Chris (macscac) when he joined RWG1 (long story).

I forgot that i owned a rep of this watch actually till now,i do love TT and FG in a rollie and i will own one soon.

Thanks for the replies guys. :)

Have to admit, I rather liked the TT Daytona. Couldn't've worn it myself (never been keen on gold aesthetically, and it brings me up in a rash for some reason :bangin: ) but I thought it looked like a pretty cool watch, and, at the end of the day, the Golden Rule, is if you're happy with it, and it feels good on your wrist, that's all that matters :drinks:

PS That TT GMT really looks The Business :good::drinks:
