vafarmer70 Posted March 3, 2011 Report Posted March 3, 2011 Cool, but not sure I like how the chrono pushers meet the case.
Rolexman Posted March 3, 2011 Report Posted March 3, 2011 Can't see any differences with all the other 100 AP versions... besides the case back off course.
asf Posted March 3, 2011 Report Posted March 3, 2011 Can't see any differences with all the other 100 AP versions... besides the case back off course. It's bead blasted Ti instead of SS. kinda like how Panerai changes the strap and calls it a new watch I like it

ianGP Posted March 3, 2011 Report Posted March 3, 2011 i just nutted...........twice...............at work...........
edgematic1 Posted March 3, 2011 Author Report Posted March 3, 2011 I know you also were awaiting this a long time Ian! I just sent an e-mail to Toro for an order!
sander Posted March 3, 2011 Report Posted March 3, 2011 Cool, but not sure I like how the chrono pushers meet the case. what's wrong with it?
vafarmer70 Posted March 3, 2011 Report Posted March 3, 2011 what's wrong with it? I realize they are supposed to look that way, I just think the design was an afterthought. They cut the top out of it <exposed> but the lower half is in the case.
edgematic1 Posted March 3, 2011 Author Report Posted March 3, 2011 it looks great, it has the flaws every AP has, but dial etc looks very well replicated, also, this is a G-series caseback! http://v2.chronopassion.fr/notre-collection/?lang=fr#/royal-oak-offshore-chronopassion/47/ retail price is 24900 Euros, gen pics: rep pics: My gen rubber strap & AR'ed cyclopse are waiting for this one!
edgematic1 Posted March 3, 2011 Author Report Posted March 3, 2011 first flaw: the upper borders on the side of the crown guards should be polished, on the rep they look sandblasted as well (on the SS they're also polished)
Watchmeister Posted March 3, 2011 Report Posted March 3, 2011 Do people think the bezel profile is better on this one than the other seconds at 12. I may be ahllucinating but I thought I would ask.
vdubpower Posted March 3, 2011 Report Posted March 3, 2011 sweet . need to decide if i will get this or a silver themes must sell the rosegold first,
Mickey Padge Posted March 3, 2011 Report Posted March 3, 2011 On a practical note, bead blasted titanium will be a scratch magnet, without any option to re-brush....
plaifender Posted March 4, 2011 Report Posted March 4, 2011 On a practical note, bead blasted titanium will be a scratch magnet, without any option to re-brush.... True.. But light scratches and scuffs on titanium tend even out with the patina finish (the natural oxidation process of titanium). But you're right. I LOVE the watch, but titanium just scratches too easily p.s. For all those that don't know.. or are misinformed Titanium is SOFTER than steel, ableit lighter
edgematic1 Posted March 4, 2011 Author Report Posted March 4, 2011 I ve just ordered one. Let us see some QC pics! I ordered one from Toro at RG but it would take some days before he gets it.
mjmj Posted March 4, 2011 Report Posted March 4, 2011 Let us see some QC pics! I ordered one from Toro at RG but it would take some days before he gets it. Will share when I receive them. I had actually placed an order for the Grey Themes but this morning after seeing your posts, I emailed the collector to change my order and he has emailed back saying not a problem. So now, I wait for the QC pics etc.
edgematic1 Posted March 4, 2011 Author Report Posted March 4, 2011 About the scratches on titanium, some people use a fiberglass pen to brush away scratches. Don't know if this is possible on the sandblasted case though
MADRED7 Posted March 4, 2011 Report Posted March 4, 2011 FINALLY...the wait is over. I allready placed my order with my dealer and I will do a full review with pics when I receive the watch. First impression....looks great (beside two minor flaws...non-polished edges and caseback engraving too bold) and I love the look of sandblasted Titanium. Brushed Titanium (at least the Ti AP´s) have a nearly equal look to ss....only the feel is different! Sandblasted Titanium has a darker, wilder and rougher look. So IMHO this AP ROO is the first to have a very different look compaired to all the other ss-models! I have a dark-grey croc strap waiting for her to arrive...this will kick ... Theo
plaifender Posted March 4, 2011 Report Posted March 4, 2011 Why does everyone keep saying non-polished edges?? I clearly see polished edges in this photo:
Guest Sql_pl Posted March 4, 2011 Report Posted March 4, 2011 You see polished bezel edge, case edge should be polished as well.
plaifender Posted March 4, 2011 Report Posted March 4, 2011 Looks at the upper left of the watch case.. appears to be polished
edgematic1 Posted March 4, 2011 Author Report Posted March 4, 2011 Yes, on this one it is. This is the brushed case, sandblasted by Taka. This was the "wrong" Chronopassion with sandblast mod .
ingenieur Posted March 4, 2011 Report Posted March 4, 2011 It finally out here, do anyone here know whether the genuine have lume on the dial?
