wiesn089 Posted November 29, 2011 Report Posted November 29, 2011 Looks stunning, congratulations! In the end you saved a lot of money, plus you have an original 36k El Primero ticking away in there, which imo is a big plus! Unfortunately with Rolex increasing their parts prices over and over again (just look at their bracelets), I don't see many of these getting build anymore...
ubiquitous Posted November 29, 2011 Report Posted November 29, 2011 Back when I built my pair, I spent a total of $9k to complete both. Still $2k less than what a single gen would run. I'll take that any day. Plus, building them was just so much more fun to do...
correctime Posted November 29, 2011 Report Posted November 29, 2011 I commend the ones with the desire/knowledge/funds to go about turning out such Beautiful and rewarding pieces. Way beyond me but awesome.
redwatch Posted November 29, 2011 Report Posted November 29, 2011 +1.... way more fun, and you can spread out the cost. You didn't pay $6k all at once. Makes it a lot easier to do. Well done! That is one impressive looking piece!
Guest Daytona1984 Posted November 29, 2011 Report Posted November 29, 2011 this watch is awesome!!! wear it well!!! @flex i´m desperately looking for a case since for ever... if i had known this.. :-/ ...just ripped apart my black one last week as I sold the gen case (with gen case back and bezel) last week...
woof* Posted November 29, 2011 Report Posted November 29, 2011 Wow.....that's an incredible watch you have
chefcook Posted December 3, 2011 Report Posted December 3, 2011 Hey guys, do you know if the Rolex Minute Wheel can be used in the El Primero running at 36k bph? Would help to get around the problem of the canon pinion not working with the el primer minute wheel... Thanks!
