ubiquitous
This thread is being initiated to get a idea of how many pending watches there are amongst our members here waiting for work from rbj69, aka redbigjoe69. Please state number of watches, and indicate how long your watch(es) have been pending return to you. Please note- This is only a thread to gain an idea of how many members have outstanding orders, and the length of time those item(s) have been pending. Please refrain from any comments regarding rbj, positive or negative, as this is for objective data only. Mods- If you feel this is inappropriate, please delete. Okay... I'll go first. 1 watch- An Audemars Piguet Royal Oak. Pending since 28-JAN-2006
ubiquitous
Joe- My posting is merely to collect objective data- i.e. facts regarding orders/work pending, primarily so that the membership has an idea of backlog etc. It is not an attack on you- Hence my comment: Please refrain from any comments regarding rbj, positive or negative, as this is for objective data only. Thanks, R
TwoTone
This thread does not need a reply to every post... As Randy has requested, it is simply a thread for "Objective Data"... Any and all post that don't apply to this will be deleted... TT
alt.watch.obsessive
One submariner prepaid waiting for CG work since Aug. 8. I think in fairness we should have a similar way to alert others when work is completed.

Typhoon
1 watch--ladie's TT DJ from PT. Here is the USPS delivery confirmation... Label/Receipt Number: 0305 083x xxxx 8261 6361 Status: Delivered Your item was delivered at 4:59 pm on May 11, 2006 in WILSON, NC 27XXX. RBJ & I have been in contact during the past week via phone & email and the ball seems to roll again. He said that he can't find or has lost PT's DJ and is buying a new one from Paul. After he receives it he said that he will do his QC and then send it to me. We agreed that it will take til the end of this month-around 17-20 days until my wife gets her DJ back TS Edited October 11, 2006 by Typhoon

ubiquitous
Doubtful that anyone will want to come forward, as they probably fear being blacklisted, or feel that they will risk not getting their watch. Fair enough...
Richard Tracy
I would simply request my watch back, without any personal animosity, just a business style disagreement. You always retain the right to request a return of your property or a refund on merchandise not delivered in months combined with no communication. I'm going through something similar with Neil at present, with him refusing to answer any request for an update in my order or refund request, on a watch that he claimed was in stock when I ordered back in June, then in stock again I noticed about a month ago. I think we just need to see this as business, but I would still have a beer with him if ever we met, just never would order from him again.... rocket754
To all: This is not a thread to bash Joe as Randy stated. It is just a thread to get an inventory so to speak. Joe is not going to blacklist anyone and he realizes how long he has had members property to which he seems to have made a break through. Just wanted to get a pulse on where things currently stand. also this should only be for the ones that have been waiting too long and r unhappy with this wait because how many jobs i have right now is not anyones business imho , just the ones that feel they have waited too long is really all that should concern ubi and or the board, am i correct in saying this? ubiquitous
Yes... That is what I had intended this thread to be. Outstanding orders/work/issues only. Anything that has already been delivered upon need not apply. Edit to add- You don't have to be unhappy about the situation to post here. Personally, I myself am indifferent about my watch and the situation. Not [censored], not upset about it. Just kinda meh. I have other watches to keep me busy... But, I did want to get a neutral thread started on the subject to get a general consensus.

Pugwash
mods this does not pertain to this thread please delete, , he is talking down to me about pictures and it has nothing to do with this thread whatsoever (highjacking the thread, basically what u got on me about before) and its no ones business but me and my customers and if they want to make it public then they can Joe, you can end this thread merely by telling us how many watches you have outstanding. It'll stop the cheap shots getting their digs in.
rbj69
i probably have about 4 that r over due and have a right to be sort of ill or like randy said meh , keep in mind it was not purposely and they all know why , i call them special projects, like make a brevet crown from a mold (and make that mold) , plate gold and silver like screws on a audemar piquet watch or a two tone bracelets endlinks ,wait for michael young to send a hand made dial or figure out ways to make a unfinished datewheel or etc. just simply experimental stuff that i or noone else has done but i like the challenge , but they still want me to finish the job, so i am doing as im asked and most havent complained , most of my complaints r from people i dont owe anything to or done any work for , so that is really all i can think of that could be ill or antsy , i wish ones that r would let me know (so i can do as i always have and look after them)(whether send them there watch back and there money if they sent some , doesnt matter me just as long as there happy) cause u guys seem to think there r alot of people mad but really it is not to the best of my knowledge , while i was sick i didnt take any orders in and when i got better i took some , thats all basically that i know , hope this helps u pug wash and others thanks joe

rbj69
I had the same feelings, but in the meanwhile i got watches from Oliver and Luckyyy instead. Fantastic pieces! Now i got all my parts back from Joe and i dont have pending orders, but I still do want to post here. Since September 26 I havent talked to Joe. Hope to get some answers here since this has been the only way to get something back from people. These days it seems that everybody is getting public his affairs. Guess why. The story takes place during March 2 and August 26. 7 months. March 2, Parcel arrives to the USA, yeah! I paid the half of the estimated invoice in advance. I am a polite guy. I knew Joe was ill and didnt want to bother him. May 8, I email Joe and refresh information to Joe about me and the order. We exchange some emails about the watch thing. Joe is still ill. My mother had ashma too, I take this illness serious. June 9. I placed a phone call, we talked about 20 minutes. Joe is a nice guy to talk with. My english is not big problem. We both can understand the conversation. Joe wouldnt work into my franken datejust because he lacked some parts that wouldnt be found in the watch market because those parts seemed hard to source. (an eta 2824 and datewheel overlay). August 17, I ask Joe to get back my rolex parts. August 20, I got shipping confirmation and tracking number August 26, parcel reaches Spain. the same day I wrote a post in the thread of angry overboosted and make people know that i got my parts back and that I remember Joe saying me that I had credit with him, but credit is not what i expected from him --->Link This is not the only post i wrote calming people, I myself did a good propaganda job and got blamed for that. Well, it seemed to be a lot of time. But we all know that illness is a serious issue that needs to be undestand. I asked Joe for a partial refund, or some parts in exchange. ------------------------------------- Joe, you told me I have credit with you, but I told myself to not send any watch to usa again, because of customs issues and convicted people hijacking postal airplanes, so i cant take the credit you offered me. Anyway thank you. Please understand that the amount I paid was a substantial amount, and I hope to see something back. I never blamed you because the job wouldnt be started because project lacked some parts. You have made a lot of fantastic jobs such as the brevet crown that we will never forget. You are truly the master. But when it comes to source some parts (eta 2824 and datewheel overlay) the market fails. I wonder if you would please send me a refund. Best Regards, this is all fine with me , now again why not just ask me directly ? i have our emails and u made it seem like u might being something else, so i figured u just have a credit with me is fine, also i did spend a little time with your watch like check on things fitting and such and talking with u about your project via email and over the phone ,so i guess u r saying my time because u changed your mind on a project is worthless? u changed your mind u said because a freind was going to buy your parts from u and u couldnt pass this up , soon as u asked i mailed it three days out so whats the problem again? just email me what u think is a fair refund , dont forget your shipping charges please , thanks this is not hijacking because he asked me a question directly , thanks joe
manuel
Joe, I am going to edit my previous post. I didnt read your post in this thread. Yes, it is true about that i wanted to sell my parts, because in the meanwhile i got a datejust from Oliver, so I tought I wouldnt need another datejust and decided to sell the parts. Yes, we talked about the watch project, but despite that, the project stalled. I admit I had my parts back soon after i demanded, I was patient enough, until i decided to sell the parts instead of waiting more and more to see the project accomplished. I will email you tomorrow because i have things to do now. The credit thing was a proposition from you, what i wanted was a partial refund or some parts in exchange, and I insisted about the parts but got nothing instead, yes you can see email. August 17 Regards, Manuel.
