Hello,

I am wondering is someone has an idea why a movement will not run when is in the case, I put it together and it ruins for a little bit then it stops. I got the movement out of the case and it has been running for a day. is so odd.

Any idea of what could be causing the issue.

Helpful to know what movement & case, but check for the hands (or another part of the movement) coming into contact with the crystal or, if a chronograph, for the levers that operate the chrono functions not having sufficient space between them & the pushers.

Is the stem/crown in the movement while it is running outside the case? If the stem/crown is not in the movement, install them & see if the movement still continues to run.

the Stem is installed when put or when in the case, is a 1655 case and is the Chinese DG GMT movement, and the crystal is a 116 which it has plenty of space if a shake it gently when in the case it runs for about 20-40 second

Not sure about this movement in specific but is there a dial spacer in place and the correct size? Have a members watch I am currently working on that was serviced not 100% correctly... it has the same issue as yours, movement would run fine outside the case. Turns out the dial washer was installed wrong and is the wrong size. When the dial was under load from being installed in the case there was enough pressure placed on the hour wheel to stop the movement.
