thogaa
I badly want a secs@6 panda dial Daytona - latest version. No jerky second hand and no need for working chronos. Who’s gonna build it? What's the remedy?
Samurai
The sec@6 has always been a troublesome movement.
freddy333
I badly want a secs@6 panda dial Daytona - latest version. No jerky second hand and no need for working chronos. Who’s gonna build it? You need a standard, 3-hand movement with subsidiary seconds that will fit the Daytona dial/case (you will probably need a spacer ring since non-chrono movements tend to be much thinner than chronos). Once you have the dial dimensions, you just have to locate a movement that matches it (specifically, the spacing between the center cannon pinion & subsidiary seconds pinion). Cement the 2 subdial hands to the dial & you are off to the races.

thogaa
Here's a little vid of my grail 116509. Imagine what went through my mind when I first looked at that second hand
freddy333
Obviously, not a gen, but no one will notice the hand's slight stutter (due to imprecise machining of components, which illustrates 1 of the differences between a $300 rep & a $10k gen ) from normal viewing distances. sneed12
Now Why Doesn't Anybody make a decent secs@6 Tona? a) It's challenging people buy the ones they make, why build something different?

How are the ones you've treated running compared to the one I had?

thogaa
There WAS such a rep. We had a discussion about it a few years ago. LINK. Thanks By-Tor - Seems everything really was better in the old days I can't find any later type (16520?) seconds@9 tonas at our dealers. Anyone know if those are still made? Like this one (gen) or just ss T
thogaa
Does this mean that nobody makes a decent secs@9 later type Daytona?
