triplehd Posted June 9, 2011 Report Posted June 9, 2011 Ok - looking to add a cyclops to two of my watches. I know most sellers on ebay, Ofrei, etc will sell cyclops that says "2.5" mag, but does anyone have a great source on true 2.5 mags?
freddy333 Posted June 9, 2011 Report Posted June 9, 2011 I would take claims from most ebay sellers with a huge grain of salt, but if Ofrei says theirs is 2.5x, then it is 2.5x.
jmb Posted June 10, 2011 Report Posted June 10, 2011 The last time I read ofrei's disclaimer they said they wouldn't publish the mag power because it all depended on the distance from the mag to the date wheel. Have they changed their position about this?
triplehd Posted June 10, 2011 Author Report Posted June 10, 2011 No - I saw that too, but isnt that true?
jmb Posted June 10, 2011 Report Posted June 10, 2011 Yes it is. I think one would need to know the exact distance in order to specify the exact magnification factor. You could specify a certain magnification for a lens but that would be at a certain focal distance...
JoeyB Posted June 10, 2011 Report Posted June 10, 2011 I bought 3 from Otto Frei, and as soon as I received them I laid one on a 25-295 C2 gen crystal to compare. They looked the exact same to my eye.
