ongck77 Posted July 5, 2011 Report Posted July 5, 2011 Guys, Gonna pull the trigger for the gen Polar Explorer. This is the my first and most expensive online transaction, so am bit worry for that. Need your eyes to help to for the authenticity of the watch. Thanks in advance
By-Tor Posted July 5, 2011 Report Posted July 5, 2011 The watch in the pictures is genuine. Congrats for this classic. I never had the gen of this but I had a decent franken. The dial is unique on these.
ongck77 Posted July 5, 2011 Author Report Posted July 5, 2011 Thanks By-Tor May I know what's the uniqueness of the dial?
By-Tor Posted July 5, 2011 Report Posted July 5, 2011 Ah... nothing really "unique" (literally) but it's one of the nicest white dial watches ever made.
ongck77 Posted July 5, 2011 Author Report Posted July 5, 2011 Am gonna agreed on that. Another wite dial that caught my eyes is Seamaster Great White.
Cats Posted July 5, 2011 Report Posted July 5, 2011 Congrats and a good catch. Wear it in good health. Indeed it's one of the best looking white dial watches i have ever seen. Carpe Diem Cats
macjulivert Posted July 5, 2011 Report Posted July 5, 2011 Much joy! A great buy. I also I have it, although it is more ancient ... With a born orange or black for the summer ...
sneed12 Posted July 5, 2011 Report Posted July 5, 2011 Nice! One of my favorite watches. Honestly, what that pic makes me think is "man, the reps of these are pretty damn good."
Ronin Posted July 5, 2011 Report Posted July 5, 2011 Here is my GEN for comparison. Looks legit to me:
ongck77 Posted July 6, 2011 Author Report Posted July 6, 2011 Thanks for the kind words guys Will post up some pictures if the deal is on. Fingers crossed. How I wish it is a t-dial version
By-Tor Posted July 6, 2011 Report Posted July 6, 2011 How I wish it is a t-dial version Why? Super Luminova dial is much nicer, and the lume on the older watches is much more effective than on the tritium version. T<25 watches also have non-SEL bracelets. The one that you posted has super luminova dial.
ongck77 Posted July 7, 2011 Author Report Posted July 7, 2011 Ya By-Tor, just fascinated of the patina effect
