ubiquitous
Kinda interesting how something as simple as a bezel insert can instantly change the look of a watch. For example- My 5514. Here's how it looked a few days ago with an old scratched up insert... And as it stands now with a cleaner insert/pearl; slight natural fading to the surface and toning of the numerals/5min markers... Feels like a brand new watch all over again... freddy333
It looks beautiful, Ubi. But, for a vintage tool watch, I would have left the original insert on it & possibly enhanced its patina a bit more.
TeeJay
I'm torn... I love the wabi-sabi aesthetic, but I must admit, that new insert really does look the business
dutchguy2
Funny, I did the same thing today with my 1680. I had a very nice faded inlay. But since I already have a 1665 with the same sort of inlay and I could get a gen inlay with Luminova pearl cheap I have decided to change the look of my 1680 to a more "just back from RSC" look. Here is the old 1680 (together with his big brother the 1665) Here is the "new" 1680

jmb
Looks great, R, I just put the correct pearl-dot in the homebrew Snowflake and makes a huge difference by itself. I will need to put in a new insert, though...
