coolfire Posted August 4, 2011 Report Posted August 4, 2011 I have to say- As far as reps go, the Chronopassion is definitely high on my list. It's been a long time since I've purchased a rep (maybe close to 2 years), but I'm glad I went with this one (thanks watchmeister for the nudge in the right direction). Dave- If you've not given one of these a try yet, it may be time And to think I have just gotten the AP Diver, mate. Your CP pics are creating a stir in my head now. Dave should really jump onto the AP bandwagon, he will not regret it. Sent from my SGS II
Watchmeister Posted August 4, 2011 Report Posted August 4, 2011 Yeah, the CP just wears very differently from the other AP's. I converted my V2 into a franken but I am even considering getting a V3. Dave- You should go for it. I got Ubi on board.
plaifender Posted August 4, 2011 Report Posted August 4, 2011 This or an AP diver will be my next purchases (once I get a job!) Downsides to the CP are its susceptibility to scratching!

Ya, Chronopassion is my first new rep in a few years as well...still waiting for it to show up!
jamdot Posted August 7, 2011 Report Posted August 7, 2011 OP makes me want the SS bracelet..or is it Ti? I have a CP3 and a Diver with Vac now getting Lume...
Gorilladame Posted August 8, 2011 Report Posted August 8, 2011 Hi Ubi! I am also turning round and round in my bed every evening thinking of finally getting a new rep. Could you do me a big favor and make a pic with the AP and one of your Rolex so that I could see the different size, because this is the only thing I fear with my lady-like arms...
ubiquitous Posted August 8, 2011 Author Report Posted August 8, 2011 Hi Ubi! I am also turning round and round in my bed every evening thinking of finally getting a new rep. Could you do me a big favor and make a pic with the AP and one of your Rolex so that I could see the different size, because this is the only thing I fear with my lady-like arms... It definitely wears big... But overall, it's not terribly huge (in my opinion). My wrist measures 6.8", so by no means do I have a large wrist. The lighter weight of the Ti makes this one a little more comfortable, however. The weight isn't causing any imbalance or shifting of the case from one side of my wrist to the other...
Gorilladame Posted August 8, 2011 Report Posted August 8, 2011 Thank you (very good joice for the comperssion. ;-) )!!! The AP really looks big. Actually on the second pic it looks like someone badly photoshoped the AP to the pic in a wrong dimension...
ubiquitous Posted August 8, 2011 Author Report Posted August 8, 2011 Nope. No tricks or photoshopping.
Gorilladame Posted August 9, 2011 Report Posted August 9, 2011 (edited) Just pulled the trigger at Joshes... Looking forward to my first rep since over a year ... I already stopped wearing my 5513 and started easy my Tudor Heritage to get used to the size again ;-) Edited August 9, 2011 by Gorilladame
cib0rgman Posted August 9, 2011 Report Posted August 9, 2011 I was looking for this watch at one of the dealers here site. what is the model of the watch called? Thanks

ubiquitous Posted August 11, 2011 Author Report Posted August 11, 2011 For grins, I swapped the deployant out for a tang buckle. Much better fit. Yeah, the buckle is PVD, but it does blend in with the gen strap...
MJC Posted August 11, 2011 Report Posted August 11, 2011 You done testing the waters? Want to sell it to me?? Lol
coolfire Posted August 14, 2011 Report Posted August 14, 2011 You done testing the waters? Want to sell it to me?? Lol Ermm... I've already called dibs on Ubi's spare CP.
PPN Posted August 17, 2011 Report Posted August 17, 2011 These are fantastic pics, ubi. I'm now drooling for a ROO! I was originally thinking about the Safari or maybe even the Navy. The CP is a little sportier, which makes me wonder how it would look with leather straps? Have you considered maybe trying it with lighter straps, you think it'd work?
ubiquitous Posted August 20, 2011 Author Report Posted August 20, 2011 PPN- There have been a couple of folks here that have added lighter color straps to their Chronopassions; usually, it's the AP Bands Lungomare Chocolate shark strap. Defintiely dresses the watch up a little more. However I ended up fitting mine with a genuine AP rubber strap and tang buckle since I'm usually in casual attire At any rate, I wanted to update this thread with a short term update/report from the field... I've been wearing mine at least once a day every day; the finish and surface has held up well for the most part. However I have two tiny hairlines on the side of the lugs (profile of the case; 1:00 side). I had reached back for my seatbelt in the car, and the metal clip of the seatbelt had smacked against the case. My immediate reaction was to check the top surfaces of the bezel as the largest surface area exposed; no dings or scuffs. However, the result was two small hairlines on the side of the lug that are only really visible at certain angles/lighting. It's somewhat disappointing to me as the damage looks similar to a screwdriver blade that had slipped while unscrewing that particular lug screw. The damage is a result of not being careful enough, but it wasn't for being clumsy with tools I'll try and get a shot of it... It's hard to see except when the light is focused on that side of the lugs. Otherwise, the finish has held up great. And the watch is still one of my favorites
ebzen02 Posted August 20, 2011 Report Posted August 20, 2011 Damn it! Another watch to add to my list.. I saw Donerix's AP Diver in person this week and loved it. I love chronos and this has to be my AP favorite along with the diver.
ubiquitous Posted August 20, 2011 Author Report Posted August 20, 2011 It really is a fantastic piece... Especially in person. The finish and details of the bead blasted case are quite amazing.

Any pointers on where I'd be able to pick one of those shark straps up? Or any pictures of it? :-)
Watchmeister Posted August 20, 2011 Report Posted August 20, 2011 The strap he is referring to comes from AP bands and they also sell a tang buckle in brushed ss that can go with it. The strap is not cheap $150-$200 (can't remember) nor is the buckle but it looks great.
vlydog Posted August 20, 2011 Report Posted August 20, 2011 I agree with W. The strap and the buckle compliments the Chronopassion perfectly!
cib0rgman Posted August 20, 2011 Report Posted August 20, 2011 I would like to see a side by side of this one with a PO 45 that will tell a lot about the fit since I have a PO and it wears nice on me. Thanks
