How Submariners always look bigger on someone elses wrist?

I met up with a buddy I hadn't seen in many years yesterday and he had a classic 16610 Sub. It looked much bigger that I feel mine look on my wrist. And he is bigger than me

Met up with a few RWG veterans on Monday evening and one was wearing his 14060.

It looked much bigger on him that I envision my sub looking on my wrist.

Yep, I have the same feeling. They always look bigger on someone elses wrist than on my own.

I saw a reporter wearing a Sub/GMT the other day on the news, and it looked pretty big on his wrist too

I think the sub is a good size, but I do prefer the PO big size. But I agree, subs always look big on passers by than my wrist...

I am so happy to hear such distinguished members say this. I even gave my Sub LV to my son and now everytime I see him with it on it looks bigger than it ever did on me.

Very common. And I think most reps are slightly undersized. I've never seen a WM9 V2 in person, but most other 16610 reps I've ever seen are slightly off in proportion. I took my 90's era TW Best sub to an AD once (*gasp*) and was commenting to the sales woman how I liked the newer models without lugholes. We put them side by side, and she didn't know up from down, but it was obvious to me that the rep was a hair small.

Now I only have a gen 16610 sitting in a safe, and no reps. The gen 16610 is actually starting to show some return on investment now too... As strange as that sounds. But sellers are now commanding inflated prices almost everywhere.

I think that the size of a Sub (height and width) is classic. I can wear mine anywhere for anything and it never looks inappropriate or out of place.
