Hi guys,

I've bought taka crystal from private seller, but my watchsmith said the crystal was 0.2mm too small to fit on the 3717 case. He could glue them permanently, but he reckon there might be rubber sealant that was made for the crystal.

I am not 100% sure if the crystal came from taka, what are my options? Should I try to get the rubber sealant?

Cheers

My Taka crystal fits perfectly as far as I can tell, although I didn't install it myself. I did not send anything other than the crystal to Vac, and he did not report any issues.

You can use a gasket and UV glue.

Press the crystal and gasket in first, then apply glue.

Use a small UV lamp to cure, or set it in direct sunlight (it will take longer, make sure it isn't dusty).

... keep all the glue off the AR.

+1.

The glue comes in a syringe ... this is not something to do after a pot of coffee.

Keep the needle between the crystal and the bezel, and apply evenly.

I think there is a GS crystal adhesive, too, no UV needed.

I have the same problem and I'm guessing like me you have a crystal for the Topgun which is slightly smaller than the 3717 crystal. I bought a Taka Topgun type thinking it would fit in my 3717 but it is smaller and slightly thicker too(not a problem). Not sure if Takashi is still arouind, he has not looged into RWI since Feb this year!

I had the Zigmeister installed my Taka crystal on the 3717 and he had no problem with it...Maybe yours is a Topgun crystal as others suggested...
