ubiquitous Posted August 20, 2011 Report Posted August 20, 2011 A bit optimistic, methinks. 7922s and 7924s usually price in the $20k range; but $60k for a 7928?! Well, I guess it is watch-navi afterall... Shouldn't be too surprised to see silly stuff like that...
asf Posted August 20, 2011 Report Posted August 20, 2011 so beautiful with its imperfections. infact, it looks like nanuq got a hold of it
krpster Posted August 20, 2011 Report Posted August 20, 2011 infact, it looks like nanuq got a hold of it Does look nice but $60k seems somewhat over the top.
Nanuq Posted August 20, 2011 Report Posted August 20, 2011 so beautiful with its imperfections. infact, it looks like nanuq got a hold of it Look at that aging!! I'm in the presence of a Master. Not worthy... not worthy...
redwatch Posted August 20, 2011 Author Report Posted August 20, 2011 What I want to know is: how can we get this pitting effect? JMB's bucket of trimmings does some wonders for aging, but I want some pitting!
ubiquitous Posted August 20, 2011 Report Posted August 20, 2011 That looks like a series of cuts and scrapes that have been polished and worn down over time. You could probably achieve something similar by running a file vertically against the lug profile and then polishing down using a series of compounds and rouges. I'd practice on a throw away case first.
jmb Posted August 21, 2011 Report Posted August 21, 2011 Hmmm, don't reckon I have any chips even remotely that coarse!
Jkay Posted August 21, 2011 Report Posted August 21, 2011 I would hate to see what the ARM looks like if the steel watch is so gashed. The guy probably has to wear watches on his johnson by now.
