redwatch Posted August 29, 2011 Author Report Posted August 29, 2011 Looks like that might work, but 8 euros for one screw?
dbutlerman Posted August 29, 2011 Report Posted August 29, 2011 or...go to http://www.julesborel.com/ then Products, Movement Parts P-Z, Valjoux, then VAL 7734, then Screw, Case Clamp, then Add To Order How's that They are even in the US...
redwatch Posted August 29, 2011 Author Report Posted August 29, 2011 Haha! Great! Thank you!! I always seem to forget about Jules Borel for some reason.
dbutlerman Posted August 29, 2011 Report Posted August 29, 2011 Me too! I just checked and they seem to have all the parts for the Omega Cal. 565 too! I just ordered some stuff from Cousins because Otto Frei didn't have them...Jules Borel - the forgotten step child of the American Watch Parts Industry....
redwatch Posted August 29, 2011 Author Report Posted August 29, 2011 Me too! I just checked and they seem to have all the parts for the Omega Cal. 565 too! I just ordered some stuff from Cousins because Otto Frei didn't have them...Jules Borel - the forgotten step child of the American Watch Parts Industry.... Were you able to order anything? If so, how did it go? I created a new account, picked the parts I wanted, and hit checkout. Entered the quantity I wanted, and then clicked next and then I got to a page saying thank you for your order. I haven't entered in any payment details yet. Odd...
dbutlerman Posted August 29, 2011 Report Posted August 29, 2011 Maybe they'll email you back. I don't think I've ever actually ordered from them. Maybe give them a call? Or maybe just wait until you get some sort of confirmation email. EDIT TO ADD: I think all the parts houses need one good web programmer to go through and re-do their search engine and carts. It shouldn't be as hard as they make it. People have been complaining about Cousins, but I think there site is the only one that works...
FxrAndy Posted August 29, 2011 Report Posted August 29, 2011 Red whats with your hour wheel??? it looks like your hour wheel is taller than your min wheel???
redwatch Posted August 29, 2011 Author Report Posted August 29, 2011 Red whats with your hour wheel??? it looks like your hour wheel is taller than your min wheel??? You know I was wondering that too. Is it possible that the min hand has a longer post to fit down inside?
dbutlerman Posted August 29, 2011 Report Posted August 29, 2011 Based on Yuki's hand set - I don't think so...
dbutlerman Posted August 29, 2011 Report Posted August 29, 2011 Maybe you need a new one of these...7734 Cannon Pinion http://cgi.ebay.com/VALJOUX-7734-CHRONOGRAPH-CANNON-PINION-WATCH-PART-N-245-/250838270673

redwatch Posted August 29, 2011 Author Report Posted August 29, 2011 And back to the great north she goes! Oh well.... the nature of building your own reps I guess Thanks for the comments guys! Looks like this one will be on hold for a wee bit now.
krpster Posted August 30, 2011 Report Posted August 30, 2011 Inner bezel? You mean the markings on the dial? No I don't think so. I just like the aged tritium look, but I do want the dial to look someone decent (like it was well protected under that acrylic crystal) Still need some mounting screws for the movement. Does anyone know what size screws the 7734 takes and where I might find a couple? I will measure the ones I have when I get home (on the road ATM) and let you know. Might be able to find a generic screw for less $.
redwatch Posted October 14, 2011 Author Report Posted October 14, 2011 And she has finally landed I'll try and take some better pics later today or tomorrow, but in the meantime, here is a quick wristi

dbutlerman Posted October 18, 2011 Report Posted October 18, 2011 Where are the promised photos? Did I miss them?
redwatch Posted October 18, 2011 Author Report Posted October 18, 2011 Where are the promised photos? Did I miss them? Been slammed @ work and no time for pics at the moment. I'll try and get some up soon though
dbutlerman Posted October 18, 2011 Report Posted October 18, 2011 No worries - I just wanted to make sure I hadn't missed them!
redwatch Posted November 4, 2011 Author Report Posted November 4, 2011 Finally had some free time to snap a few pics. Also had to wait a while as the date wheel that i got with my 7734 movement had a couple of broken teeth on it and it got stuck on day 8 and day 30. Now I have installed the new DW and it's ready for prime time!!! (Unfortunately, the new date wheel isn't as nicely aged as the one i had, but it still looks pretty good) On to the pics: And the two brothers side by side:
