Only the earlier Pre-V models uses the usual low beat 6497. Apparently high beat is less noisier and the second has a smoother sweeping move (of course u wun be able to differentiate), and more reliable. Apparently high beat is less noisier and the second has a smoother sweeping move (of course u wun be able to differentiate), and more reliable. This was OP's response when asked about the 318's movement ( OPXXIX 18,000 alternations per hour)... "The movement of more direct comparison to the 'OPXXIX (PAM000318) is OPII (PAM000005). The two movements differ in the number of alternations and the certifdicazione COSC. The OPII has 21,600 alternations / hour and is COSC The OP has XXIX 18,000 alternations per hour and is not COSC. The OP XI OP II has the same features but a different basis. Unfortunately we can not disclose what will be the possible future use of the caliber OP XXIX." For the simple reason that if you buy a replica, you want the number of beats per minute to match that of the genuine watch. If you are buying a vintage Rolex replica, you want a lower beat movement. If you are buying a modern Rolex then you want a high beat movement. You can look at the sweep seconds hand and see if something is low or high beat, SO you want your replica's movement to be the same beats a minute as the genuine watch.
