I have noticed that the inserts for a 1680 seem compatible with the 1665. Is my assumption correct? A friend also said I could use a 1680 bezel on a 1665. Yes the 1665 bezel is much thicker than a 1680, so it covers maybe 2mm more of the crystal sidewall. There are different 1665 bezel "apparent" thicknesses too, by the depth of the knurling. It's a rare insert variation which goes all the way to the edge of a superdomed crystal. I've seen it in at least 2 examples. But most 1665 inserts are like the 5513 one.
