Explorer 2 2011 42mm QC pics

Hey guys, I'm thinking of buying the 2011 Explorer and Andrew has just posted some QC sample pics.

I'm not an explorer expert and have not yet seen the new 42mm one in person. How accurate is this rep and can it be used without any mods as a daily watch or are there obvious tells like in some older explorer 2 reps.

And which color rep is closer to the gen, white or black or are they both the same?

This is the updated version which has a better bezel and improved but not perfect crown guards. It is the best yet. I have not seen the white dial in person but have seen the rep and gen black dial in the flesh.

The black dial version is closer but still has all black hands on the rep whereas the gen has silvered hands with just black at the base of the main hands. They are getting there but not 1:1 by a long way.

yes, i would consider the hands on the black one a dead giveaway. but on the white one the real hands are black as well. so one less problem?

The dial says Rolex, that's the the thing which would arouse suspicion, not details as trivial as the hand color... It's only folks around here who notice such things, the general public won't have a clue Just buy the one you prefer, and I'm sure you won't be disappointed

I had no idea they'd revised the 42mm version already... not there yet but the progress is encouraging!

They will never get the color of the markers right...it's greyish blue on the gen...
