  1. Just wear it as a Rotary... from wrist distance all their homages look like the real deal anyways.
  2. Might appeal to Breitling owners? Or ladies that like to wear mens watches.
  3. You can get a genuine Maratac strap (great quality NATO & Zulu) for around $15, many with free shipping, on eBay.
  4. This is your gen, but you weren't aware the barcode is only on the clear protective sticker? Hmmm… Why no side-by-side? Anyways, nice pics! I wish the lume was a little closer to pure white in daylight, the grayish hue is my biggest gripe. How's the crown / tube? I got an early version, also 21j, and it was rough winding & screwing down.
  5. Jinx to LHOOQ, I think you need to read the replies again HartDoc. Doesn't look like anyone called it a rep, only told you what to look for to spot one. I'm staring at the U1 rep on my wrist now and indeed the dial markers are greenish tinted (very slightly), unlike yours which are stark white. Another tell, if you're truly anal, is that there's slightly more space between the date window and 3 o'clock lume marker on the gen than there is on the rep. The AR on mine is of gen caliber, and the rep rubber is really decent (they also did a great job on the steel's finish, matches a gen bracelet perfectly)... if it wasn't for the lume I'd call this a super rep!
  6. yeah shame about the CGs, because the rehaut really does look improved
  7. not sure how much difference there is between gen and rep rubber, but I've got a rep Sinn U1 and it's by FAR the most comfortable rubber strap I've worn, way better than my experience with rep Breitling or Omega rubber. I've even seen a few Rolex guys over at TRF who use Sinn rubber straps for their Submariners.
  8. here's a link to the newsletter I mentioned... SD info at the bottom http://www.icontact-archive.com/OKL6XAZDiBCbxml4L2_pNrLETAyRt3YI?w=1
  9. The product ID number in the URL indicates these are leftover links for the old SSD, and are definitely NOT placeholder links for the new superlumed SD that the cartel has been working on (which in the latest newsletter was announced to be coming in a month, after the surprise release of the Explorer II).
  10. Yep, per my link earlier, new 39mm Explorer II coming from the cartel... looks pretty great. Finally a noob replacement it seems. Hope this is just the start, they're supposedly working on a new SD as well.
  11. Just posted to facebook... nothing on his site yet. But this could be promising perhaps? https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10150585626509447.500207.520849446&type=1
  12. DSSD on NATO is such a great look, surprised I don't see it more often!
  13. I had no idea they'd revised the 42mm version already... not there yet but the progress is encouraging!
  14. This would be true for a regular black wm9 dial (compared to the ones he's had made for the TW sub), but the blue TT dial is not being remade... and so I'd venture around $150 give or take. I think I paid BK around $50 for a noob TT dial, as a point of reference.
  15. I think this was the point I tried to make in my post earlier. Ironically, I was a TRF member as well, just lurking but not posting (no gen Rolex for me yet). I attempted to post for the first time, and was immediately banned because my post began "disclosure: I'm also a member of replica forums" even though the text essentially chastised our members for pulling this. Those guys don't kid around... You have been banned for the following reason: Nanuq and replica site supporter! Date the ban will be lifted: Never
  16. One man's joke is another's "hey let's see if we can make those guys look like chumps" so I guess to each his own in terms of interpretation... certainly clear how they took it (which absolutely should have been expected). Don't get me wrong, I also agree with the assessment of the skill / knowledge of members here, and that members there are often poor sports. Those two points I actually tried to make in a (first) post over there which was never approved by the Mods. Regardless, I still think it was foolish not to see this train wreck coming, and my main gripe is that (knowing their disdainful view of reps & even frankens) this was bound to reflect poorly. I'd have much rather Freddy's piece get posted and instead of "discovered" just stated what it was. Instead of deceit, a proud declaration. They might have turned up noses just the same but at least it would be honest. Just my 2¢
  17. Sigh, very poorly handled. I feel like a new member would have been banned for these shenanigans... aside from the broken rules, it just perpetuates the stereotype of rep owners as fake / shady people out to pull a fast one.
  18. I've got one, so yes it works, & on an Oyster nobody will notice the wrong engravings.
  19. yes I'm 100% positive they are stolen from this completed ebay thread http://www.ebay.com/itm/ROLEX-18kt-Gold-DAYTONA-Strap-White-Dial-116518-/390350580234#ht_6068wt_984 (most are gone now, but the couple that remain are clearly lifted onto this fake ioffer watch)
  20. The gen in those pics looks great... I wonder what you'd actually receive (if anything) from that link?
  21. I wouldn't buy off fleabay, especially from someone with such little feedback... check the gen Rolex forums for a trusted seller
  22. Nope, gen has hallow links as was pointed out. Yours is correct.
