Is this genuine eta 2824-2

I don't believe that it is. The shock absorber mounted above the balance looks wrong to me. It is an Incabloc Shock system. The 2824 should have a Novodiac Shock system which has three points on it.

Here is a close up of yours:

This is what it should look like. Also take note of the timing regulator. There is a small slot screw between a fork that you turn to adjust the speed of the watch. Your movement just has a needle.

Be aware that an old movement even if brand new ols stock will more than likely require a service before it will perform to its best due to the old oils deterioating and becoming gummy reducing movement of all the moving parts

Wow- just to show how hard it is to tell gen vs. rep mov'ts. The shock absorber ring theory doesn't always hold up.

One dealer @ RepGeek gave up trying to decide among the newer rep mov'ts- unless you tear them apart, you can't be sure.

With this older type shock spring, the "3 notch rule" never applied. Only the Novodiac spring has 3 notches. Older Incabloc (this version (in original post) was introduced in 1997) have the tabbed spring shown in the original post.
