Jkay
I'm very interested. Can you please explain more about the cream dial VCO? What's your recipe here?
txcollector
Both are the regular reps with OEM dials, chief AR and relumed hands. Very simple. I'm also working on the crowns (the gen has a different thinner profile) and I may try to upgrade the DWs and caseback engraving.

txcollector
Fantastic; thanks. What's the cream VCO dial go for on the 'bay? I searched for more than 1 year on eBay to get it (NOS nevertheless) but I have not seen another before or since.

txcollector
just found 2 OEM NOS date wheels for these bad boys
Watchmeister
Very nice find. That is what slowed me down from building mine. Can't wait to see the results. Will the date wheels fit the ETA movement?

txcollector
Wow, now you are taking it to a new level... Where did you score those? well I cheated and went for the original JLC date wheel. It's 99% there (the only small difference is the top of 7). calatrava
Did I read somewhere that you had an extra franken black dial VCO you were thinking of letting go? Let me know if you ever put it up for sale.
Watchmeister
Does the JLC datewheel fit the movement?
txcollector
Does the JLC datewheel fit the movement? don't know yet. I'll let you know soon. I did some photo comparison using the size of the JLC case vs the VC. Considering that the Gen uses the JLC movement I'd expect the DW to align (finally) with the date window. If that doesn't work at least I can build an overlay out if it.
calatrava
I hope it works out with the JLC date wheel alignment. From your photos, it looks like the standard ETA date wheel is reasonably well-aligned in the radial direction, but off in terms of the angular alignment. This would suggest to me that any date wheel designed for a date window at 3 o'clock would have the same alignment issues with the gen dial. Given that Vacheron doesn't use the standard JLC date wheel, it's certainly possible that they created a date wheel for precisely that strange date window location asymmetrical about the 4 and 5 o'clock markers. Who knows, I hope I'm wrong, and that it works out.

txcollector
Does the JLC datewheel fit the movement? so the DW doesn't fit the movement as expected but it's perfect for the window on the dial. I'll make them overlays.
