fotoman Posted October 28, 2006 Report Posted October 28, 2006 WOW - that is fantastic - Do you see a big difference with the davidson AR? wear it well
Maikel Posted October 28, 2006 Report Posted October 28, 2006 That is one great looking strap... & watch! Really love the Greg straps...good choice
leitztozeiss Posted October 28, 2006 Author Report Posted October 28, 2006 The Davidsen AR crystal is very nice - highly recommended. The AR appears to be generously applied along the inside surface.
babola Posted October 28, 2006 Report Posted October 28, 2006 Nice one, that strap rocks dude ! Loks like Andrew's 127 to me (I have the same one), with e0581/1950 case, but still excellent combo altogether. cheers, babola
MoTyL Posted October 29, 2006 Report Posted October 29, 2006 The Davidsen AR crystal is very nice, but unfortunately it is distorted...
leitztozeiss Posted October 29, 2006 Author Report Posted October 29, 2006 . . .but unfortunately it is distorted... Yes, it is. And, I love it. You should see my 1665 Superdome pics . . . now that IS distorted. I love that too!
Quarks Posted October 29, 2006 Report Posted October 29, 2006 Awesome Gil!! Makes me wanna make a purchase from EL and mod it with davidsen's AR glass.
Usil Posted October 29, 2006 Report Posted October 29, 2006 What strap is that and who makes it, cost? That is perfect for that watch. Usil
Usil Posted October 29, 2006 Report Posted October 29, 2006 Oops, should have read the byline closer. Crazy horse. Usil
mikellem Posted October 29, 2006 Report Posted October 29, 2006 The Davidsen AR crystal is very nice, but unfortunately it is distorted... It is suppose to be distorted!

dadog13 Posted October 30, 2006 Report Posted October 30, 2006 with that strap the watch looks 10 times nicer....
hambone Posted November 7, 2006 Report Posted November 7, 2006 Wow, That is exactly what I am ordering now. The crazy horse with the black stitch is my choice and Davidsen told me he has an upgraded fiddy now that is 380.00. Is this the one you have?
leitztozeiss Posted November 7, 2006 Author Report Posted November 7, 2006 I believe it's an early trusty, as this one has the square bridge swiss movement.
hambone Posted November 7, 2006 Report Posted November 7, 2006 I believe it's an early trusty, as this one has the square bridge swiss movement. Thanks, I had not seen Davidesns upgraded 127 posted and was not even aware of it till he notified me today. Just wondering how much better it is than Trustys at 280.00? Both are apparently re-lumed and have sapphire. I would prefer not to have to do any extra mods if it at all possible.
hambone Posted November 7, 2006 Report Posted November 7, 2006 As I am still a noob and should have done a bit more research, which I have done, I now know the difference and withdraw the question.
Nebakanezzar Posted November 8, 2006 Report Posted November 8, 2006 WOW! I love that strap! Does this guy have a website? is there a link?

I also wonder why it seemed davidsen's 127 isn't as widely owned. It seems it needs no mod. The pics show his CG lever opens at the top half. But I'm sure you can ask him to change it. I've seen a post that said exactly that. What flaws does it have that explain why people rather buy from someone else and go through all the trouble of modding their 127s? It's the price, most people just don't want to pony up $300 for the initial investment. I sold my 217 and 127 from other dealers and bought the davidsen versions and their lume, crystal, and pin fix make them absolutely worth the extra money.

Looking at today's prices, I think davidsen's has a lower overall cost when you factor in the lume, the crystall, and the pin fix. I was wondering if the davidsen's has some major flaw which I can't spot.
