kbh
Fake but if you put the right second hand on it would be much harder to tell.
letter
Aha..! Aside from the second hand, does anything else indicate it's fake?

acilper666
Fake. Something looks wrong with that dial, the Rolex seems too close to the coronet. I could be wrong though
kbh
The typical rep bezel is taller and more angular than a gen, which is flatter and at least looks wider. I've never actually measured one.
letter
My thoughts were the green lume, crown, date font and bezel...all looked wrong..
PhilFree
My thoughts were the green lume, crown, date font and bezel...all looked wrong.. The font used on 'Rolex' seems to be incorrect also.
w.genzo
Fake, date font is the biggest tell. Nice lugs though, I wish submariner reps had the same fit..
basketbob951
Terrible fake How can someone buy it as gen????
preacher62
This is using an ETA or China-made movement with stock date wheel positioning. On a gen DJ the date window is nearer to the center of the dial by about 1mm and is longer, horizontally. This is the reason that we use a date wheel overlay with near Rolex factory fonts. This date window is in stock ETA, or other, position nearer to the edge. That's why it looks funny.
sneed12
Aha..! Aside from the second hand, does anything else indicate it's fake? date position and font. That's a standard ETA datewheel.
chefcook
Fake, date font is the biggest tell. Nice lugs though, I wish submariner reps had the same fit.. End link fits nicely but the lug shape is terrible!
Bardamu
End link fits nicely but the lug shape is terrible! +1 Lug at 5 was the first thing I saw. The finishing of the brushed surface is really bad.
superlative
Rolex never made a watch with a frame around the date window. Nice try though, guys. Edited January 14, 2012 by superlative
