alifizan
I used cape cod on it, I've seen submariners before all polished up like mine, so how would I go about getting the original look back
Eiderdaus
What should that be ? You will need to refinish it completely. Try using scotchbrite as a start, Satin finishing will be a ambitious endeavour.
OceanView
if you like the way it looks, keep it that way. Who cares what others think.

alifizan
Aright guys I got the satin finish back,I used a fine satin block on the watch, the lugs were harder as the grain runs diagonally but here is the finished article http://imageshack.us/mobile/gallery.php http://imageshack.us/mobile/gallery.php

alifizan
Hi guys I've been doing some more work restoring that satin finish, it's become a bit of a fetish with me lol,I bought a satin refinishing block and got to work with it on the sub, have to say it's done a million times better job than using scotch BRITE, judge for yourself guys http://i1210.photobucket.com/albums/cc420/faizan1979/20120128_002407.jpg http://i1210.photobucket.com/albums/cc420/faizan1979/20120128_002419.jpg http://i1210.photobucket.com/albums/cc420/faizan1979/20120128_002455.jpg
OceanView
Looks good. Where did you get the satin refinishing block?
alifizan
I looked every where on the internet so in the end I went to a watch dealer who also does restoring, and after making small chit chat with him I asked if he would consider selling me some of that satin block,I will say one thing at all times do not press form hard on the watch surface,I used an almost light buffing technique and you know what it also got rid of my scratches that the scotch BRITE couldn't take off
