woof* Posted February 4, 2012 Report Posted February 4, 2012 I watched the movie "Drive" and noticed the lead character's watch was in the movie alot. That got me curious because I couldn't quite make out what it was..google revealed it was a Patek. In the article I read they said it was a fantasy watch and they used replicas. Pretty good movie I guess. http://www.gq-magazine.co.uk/style/articles/2011-09/16/gq-watches-ryan-gosling-watch-from-drive-film-movie
Jkay Posted February 4, 2012 Report Posted February 4, 2012 I read it was a very cheap Asia watch that they delivered to a screen printer who wrote PATEK on them .. I believe they had 10 watches prepared.
tabularasa415 Posted February 4, 2012 Report Posted February 4, 2012 Did you post that on the geek, too, or was that someone else? I watched drive this afternoon and thought it looked Patek-ish, but it didn't really fit the character or his personality so I dismissed the thought. Looks like the back story of how he acquired it wasn't mentioned in the movie as it was in the book. Another case of great book, bad movie... go figure :-P
txcollector Posted February 4, 2012 Report Posted February 4, 2012 ironic, isn't it? The Hollywood crowd pushing for the stupid SOPA so they can protect their interests while using reps to reduce their costs.
