If installed from factory it's a normal crown, if it's a replasement, the crown base has a lying S. So it might be an older gen crystal... Cats Posted March 10, 2012 Report Share Posted March 10, 2012 I'm certainly no expert but i have never seen a sapphire crystal form Rolex without a coronet at 6 o"clock ( oeps didn't saw the post of Deeka when i was writing ) But let's wait for the real experts to chime in. I had a gen no date sub 14060 and honestly couldn't see the crown for quite some time, catching the light perfectly and it's very small. And even when they do its really not noticable with the naked eye, really have to hold it at a certain angle to see the etch. It should also be noted that some service crystals come w AR on the cyclops which is now standard on new ceramics in the RLX line. DeeKa Posted March 11, 2012 Report Share Posted March 11, 2012 To be sure for the crown - if looking for it at a gen with mounted crystal you know it's at 6 - you have to put a lightsource parallel to the crystal, so the laser dots pop out.
