Was Rock Hudson wearing a Daytona in Ice Station Zebra?

I was just watching the movie (got about halfway through, before deciding to call it a night) and his watch caught my attention in a few scenes. It looked like a black-dialled early Daytona (I forget the model number) on a black leather (or possibly Tropic) strap, and I was wondering if anyone knew for sure what watch he was wearing?

Honestly, it could be any number of mid-60s chronographs: Breitling Top Time, first-gen Heuer Autavia, Universal Compax... And those are just the bigger names.

There is no verification available of the rumor that in the movie, Ice Station Zebra, Hudson was wearing Jim Nabors' underwear.

The lugs look to be the wrong shape as well as the case. Definitely big, definitely not Daytona/Rolex

Serafino's last pic doesn't have the right printing below 12 o'clock to be a rolex- oyster- cosmograph, No crown at 12 either- looks more like lume maybe.

I am looking at an HD version now.  The strap looks like it has NATO-type stripes with some sort of snap closure next to the lug.  Can't tell what type of watch....any new ideas?
