Watchmeister Posted April 11, 2012 Report Posted April 11, 2012 Just received my Diver 4000 from Joshua. And I have to say that it is a stunning rep. It is also very large. To give you some sense I have a 7.5" wrist. It is a gorgeous watch but it isn't fitting under any shirt. Here are the pics: I am amazed at the quality of the rep. The aesthetics are fantastic. I can't shoot lume pics but the lume is even and strong (unlike the original prototype pics). The movement has also been keeping COSC time for the last two days and the second hand is not suffering from the typical A7750 stutter. The one thing I found of note is that the weight seems to be substantially more than the gen. I can't figure out why as the case is made of titanium like the gen. The only thing I can think of is that maybe the case back is made of steel. But who knows? In any case it is my first rep in a while and I am very happy with the outcome.
Logan Posted April 11, 2012 Report Posted April 11, 2012 The weight difference will be the inner case. Like all Big Bangs the genuine is titanium but the reps always use steel.
Watchmeister Posted April 11, 2012 Author Report Posted April 11, 2012 The weight difference will be the inner case. Like all Big Bangs the genuine is titanium but the reps always use steel. Thanks. In this case it makes a fairly big difference. The watch still sits on the wrist as nicely as the gen but the weight is significantly higher. Live and learn.
Jkay Posted April 11, 2012 Report Posted April 11, 2012 Very good! Thanks for the post. I really want this piece.
maxman Posted April 11, 2012 Report Posted April 11, 2012 Congratulations Watchmeister...I have always admired the Diver 400...very Impressive Indeed. I hope to pick one up someday. enjoy. Mike
Watchmeister Posted April 11, 2012 Author Report Posted April 11, 2012 Thanks guys. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the rep. I tried the gen on and really liked it as a weekend wearer. And that is what it will be.
MADRED7 Posted April 14, 2012 Report Posted April 14, 2012 Thx for showing W. Mine will be with me mid next week....looking forward to it now. Theo
gran Posted April 14, 2012 Report Posted April 14, 2012 You guys will spend the rest of the year submerged like this enjoying thiw watch
Jkay Posted April 14, 2012 Report Posted April 14, 2012 Id like to be submerged /in/ that. Unless that is your lovely wife, Gran; in which case I made only a sincerely respectful comment

asf Posted April 14, 2012 Report Posted April 14, 2012 Very nice W! That diver has always been a curious purchase for me. Looks awesome!
Watchmeister Posted April 14, 2012 Author Report Posted April 14, 2012 Very nice W! That diver has always been a curious purchase for me. Looks awesome! Same with me. I have always made random purchases of reps of watches i know I wouldn't normally own - Ploprof, Graham, etc. This is my favorite of the "unwearable" watches. It is more wearable than those. But it is also ridiculously heavy. I have to admit that having tried the gen it is kind of throwing me off. But it is a gorgeous rep. In truth I would buy it again if they ever made the entire watch out of ti.
opti Posted April 15, 2012 Report Posted April 15, 2012 Why A7750 in these watches i dont understand. It only has time and date function
ExtraExtra Posted April 15, 2012 Report Posted April 15, 2012 That is some beast. It looks like something an astronaut would wear....very high tech.
PolonusTM Posted April 15, 2012 Report Posted April 15, 2012 Do we know the weight of the GEN? Rep weights approx. 212 grams.
Jkay Posted April 15, 2012 Report Posted April 15, 2012 Why A7750 in these watches i dont understand. It only has time and date function I believe it is due to the position of the date wheel? There is a a21j version of this watch too!!
Guest zeleni kukuruz Posted April 15, 2012 Report Posted April 15, 2012 Yepp that's Grans wife for sure, i have seen her ass twice before so i know
Buddalondon Posted April 24, 2012 Report Posted April 24, 2012 Congrats - that's one phat hunk of metal!
denisegold Posted May 20, 2012 Report Posted May 20, 2012 What mods would one need to do to put in a Swiss 7750?
perry563 Posted May 20, 2012 Report Posted May 20, 2012 It's an incredible rep. But.......not a very pretty watch. I wear it from time to time but find that it's just not overly inspiring.
Jkay Posted May 20, 2012 Report Posted May 20, 2012 What mods would one need to do to put in a Swiss 7750? Aren't they dimensionally identical?
