Is it needed to dissemble the watch/movement to remove the broken piece left inside? Can someone help with advices please? Thanks a lot in advance. triplehd Posted June 26, 2012 Report Share Posted June 26, 2012 When you say stem broke - did it just dislodge from the crown? If you have a caseback opener - unscrew the caseback and carefully remove the stem from the movement. Depending on the movement, you can place a WTB add for a new stem. Depending on where it snapped you might be able to latch onto it with tweezers or worse-case have to do a bit of disassembly of the keyless to snag it... freddy333 Posted June 27, 2012 Report Share Posted June 27, 2012 Unless the stem broke off inside the pillar plate, you do not need to remove the movement from the case. However, you will need to remove the caseback & note the movement model number (stems are purchased for a specific movement) & see if there is enough of the stem left sticking out of the main plate so it can be removed with tweezers (after you unlock the stem).
