cc33 Posted July 17, 2012 Report Posted July 17, 2012 Well, I feel bad because I promised my gold plated dw to someone here but I just couldn't help myself. Was inspired by a post the other day of someone making a custom watch. I removed the gold plating but kept the dial and hands the same, swapped for a 6265 bezel also. I have to say, I really like it.
lionsandtigers Posted July 25, 2012 Report Posted July 25, 2012 thats pretty badass. sell it to me!!!
cc33 Posted July 25, 2012 Author Report Posted July 25, 2012 Sent it off to spinmaster to get it serviced, and he will redo the black print on my bezel. I can't sell it, I'm really in love with it but you can take a gold dial and put it in an ss case, basically what I did. A few of my friends have expressed interest in having one also,, maybe ill ask David to send me a few gold dials.
tmg Posted July 25, 2012 Report Posted July 25, 2012 Not a fantasy but customized vintage TT.... Hey look at Project X Designs. Do you plan on plating the bezel and crown/pushers too? It looks cool BTW!
cc33 Posted July 25, 2012 Author Report Posted July 25, 2012 No I actually got it as a gold plated version, I took it apart and removed all the gold plating, then put it back together. I could have left any parts I wanted in gold but I thought it would look cleaner like this. I love the project x no crown guard sub its really cool.
cc33 Posted July 25, 2012 Author Report Posted July 25, 2012 Started life as the dw gold 6263, ended as an ss 6265 same case just swapped for a 6265 bezel.
