mymanmatt Posted August 25, 2012 Report Posted August 25, 2012 The one thing I know for sure is that these are genuine. The dial is not great, but ok, the bezel is a bit worn and the insert looks pretty good. My friend and I cannot determine for sure what they are for. On the back of the dial are the numbers 21 with a space and then the numbers 1311 below that are the numbers 0823. The insert presses into the bezel, it is not glued in. Thanks for the help The pearl glows slightly, the dial does not
mymanmatt Posted August 25, 2012 Author Report Posted August 25, 2012 also, do they got together, or are they for 2 completly different watches.
its_urabus Posted August 25, 2012 Report Posted August 25, 2012 I question the insert. Better pictures would help id it.
Guest Gotohavearolexnow Posted August 25, 2012 Report Posted August 25, 2012 Pearl does not look right on insert ?
mymanmatt Posted August 25, 2012 Author Report Posted August 25, 2012 100% genuine, no doubt. Question is ,16610 16800 or something else. best pics at this time. Not trying to sell, just determine what they are for.
irolexu Posted August 25, 2012 Report Posted August 25, 2012 I've handled this insert and it's gen just picture issue here guys. This would make a great vintage build for sure
its_urabus Posted August 25, 2012 Report Posted August 25, 2012 Looks like a SL pearl. Flat 4. 16610 Y serial insert I think
alligoat Posted August 26, 2012 Report Posted August 26, 2012 The dial, bezel and insert will fit all three models- 16800, 168000 and the early 16610. It will also fit the late model 16610, but the dial and the bezel are early- pre 2000.
its_urabus Posted August 26, 2012 Report Posted August 26, 2012 A, P, K, Y serial had a flat 4 SL pearl. 98'-02' Dial could be up to an A serial so no newer than 98'. Anyone else concur?
correctime Posted August 26, 2012 Report Posted August 26, 2012 (edited) I agree. Dial (patina) looks mid 16800 to Y era 16610 I don't believe they ever made a SL'd pearl for the Flat 4....,tritium only. Though I could be wrong. Is it just the pics (or just me) or are the dial feet already clipped?? Edited August 26, 2012 by correctime
w.genzo Posted August 26, 2012 Report Posted August 26, 2012 Dial could be 16800-16610 up to 1998 U series (included) Insert seems luminova so it could be 16610 A-Y series (1999-2004). If it's tritium, same of above.
mymanmatt Posted August 26, 2012 Author Report Posted August 26, 2012 It's just the picture, dial feet are there. So the dial and bezel and insert are proper for a 16610 early model? We were thinking only a 16800
